As most of you know, I've been going through a bit of a depression lately. I've started coming out of it a bit, but I'm not completely out of the woods yet. I felt inspired to write this poem a few days ago. Its kind of personal, but I decided to go ahead and post it anyway.

I hope you like it. Let me know what you think.

Rescue Me
By Allen R. Alderman

I feel myself withdrawing,
Walling myself away.
No one I can turn to,
Nothing more to say.

The flood is all around me.
Who will hear my plea?
The fear will quickly drown me.
Who will rescue me?

In times like these I need you,
Creator of all things.
Save me from the darkness,
And make my spirit sing.

Who but You will listen?
Who else can understand?
Draw me close and hold me
Safe within Your hands.

Tear down the walls around me.
Draw me from my shell.
Lift me from the darkness,
And save me from myself.

Slàn agus beannachd,
Allen R. Alderman

'S i Alba tìr mo chridhe. 'S i Gàidhlig cànan m' anama.
Scotland is the land of my heart. Gaelic is the language of my soul.

It's odd, isn't it? how such wonderful work can come from such a dark situation. This poem reads wonderfully, Wiz. Smooth and true. I like it smile.gif
