Donations To The Rescue!

We had a major hardware failure tonight with our Linksys DSL/Router. For those unfamiliar with with what exactly a router is, think of it in terms of a telephone operator who must make sure that all calls get transfered to the approprate extensions. When you make a request from your computer to bring up the CelticRadio.net website, your request goes through our DSL highspeed modem, then gets passed off to the router whose job it is to route your request to our webserver - which then sends the webpage back to your computer!

This hardware failure brought down the entire CelticRadio.net website and our broadcast for about 2-3 hours tonight. So it goes without question that this is a very important piece of equipment! It's also an expensive piece of hardware as we require an 8 port hub to support all of the computers in our network. The cost was $105 and there is no way that with my budget that we could of afforded this equipment (unless we charged it which would not make the wife happy!).

So it is with great appreciation that we thank the Highlander Radio donors who have so generously contributed to keep this station ON THE AIR and who funded this important piece of replacement equipment! Without your donations this station would be OFF THE AIR right now.
