Stonehenge

Has anybody visited this fantastic site and what do you think of it?

Yes, I was at Stonehenge about forty years ago. We were allowed to walk
among the stone and feel their texture. It is quite amazing to think people
of the time managed to move and fix together such massive stone slabs.

Did I feel any kind of a spirit connection or see ghosts of the past, no. Of course
there was a rather large group of people and I darn say a poor spirit would have
had a rather hard time getting anyone's attention.

Sure wish I could say yes, but, no- I have never been there. I'm really not sure what to think about places like that.
I'd like to believe they're gateways to a parallel dimension where Fae are common folk and we are just visitors, or maybe dragons built them in an attempt to communicate with men, or maybe the nephilim built them for the druids to use.

We'll know for sure one of these days- maybe thousands of years from now or maybe in the next second..........?

I never have visitd the site but I try to keep up with the latest theories. The last one I saw was a TV documentary that said that Stonehedge was built as a way to honor the moon. The people of the land were moving from a nighttjme hunting people who used the moon as a light to stalk game by to an agricultural people. The priests/druids, whoever had stonehedge built so that if you look at a certain section on a certain day it the stones created a upper and lower window effect. The upper window held the moon and the lower one was the sun found its position. The rest may have been used to calculate this time. This was to show the people that the sun was still subordinate to the moon.

But I still prefer the more mythological stories around it being built.

I haven't got to go, but the latest I read was that it was an altar site to worship the gods. I heard now though that you can no longer go and touch the stones, is that true?

Yes unfortunately its true but with good reason because people would take hammer to it as souvenirs or write on it.(No respect at all for monument).

I've been to Stonehenge last October and it left its mark on me by its beauty and the genius behind it. And the more they study it the more they think that it was one of the first "church" built by man. Because it is a religious monument.

Maybe not related to God as we see it today but their belief was centered to nature,like the Sun and Moon and the Earth itself. And they would perform their rituals inside the ring of Stonehenge to give offering for good luck and celebrate life in the solstice.

One is very similar in the Orkney's Island which I visited as well,called the ring of Brodgar very old and still quite impressive but nothing to compare with the site of Stonehenge. Amazing what man way before our modern times were able to built.

One feel very humble when one stand before such a great monument.

And we think ourselves so smart....

that is sad that people wouldn't respect that type of thing and have to abuse the privilege of being up close to it.

I have heard that there are others around the world, but not as big as Stonehenge.

I desire to go but have not been. I am a believer in the power there, but unlike some, I believe it was used by the Druids though not built by them. I believe the Picts were the ones that constructed it a long time ago. But I believe it hides many secrets from modern man that were known in the past before the Christians came along and destroyed knowledge in the name of their God.

It is sad that we humans will destroy and foul the places and things around us. Having grown up on a farm I noted that given any space at all, pigs would not foul the area where they slept and ate. I guess many humans could learn from pigs.

Humanity proves Evolution WRONG. For primative man was more rspectful of the Natural world and lived in harmony with it than modern man. Primative man was more clean and respectful than modern man who deplete the earth putting nothing back. Modern man has no respect for Nature and is therefore alien to it. When is the last time you stood barefot and felt the pulse of the earth under your foot. Stonehenge is one of the points where the "Ley lines" Intersect, these are magnetic filds that run through the earth, and yes they have them anywhere in the earth, they are the bloodstream of earth. Modern man pollutes the bloodstream of earth and cares nothing for healing the earth. So I find the earth will heal herself with floods, hurricanes and more violent weather...IT'S NOT NICE TO DISRESPECT YOUR MOTHEREARTH!

I was there in 1974. I have a tendency to think more of just the fact that so many people have been there before me and have a tendency to feel presence that way, like residual aura. I don't know how to explain it. I don't attribute anything else to the site since I don't know enough about it, other than many people over time have gathered there. Just think how many people have tread there over time.
Did you hear about what the tourist recently did to the Easter Island moai. He chipped off one of the moai ears for a souvenir. What was going thru his head???!!! Last I heard they-Chile- was deciding what to do with him, he was under house arrest at the time.
