I know of two here in Chicagoland, however, I don' think I will be able to make the first one as I already have plans for the memorial day weekend. The other is later in the year. Plus I know of the Bristol Renaissance Faire just across the border in Wisconsin. I am planning on going to that one.
Chuck, you forgot the Kansas City Scottish Highland Games Saturday, 12 June (it's always the second Saturday of June). I've always had fun out there even if it's getting pretty warm and humid here by then.

It our tradition now! We have gone the past five years and plan on going as long as we can!

I am fortunate in the fact that we have three here in Arizona every year. I have been to both the ones in Tucson and Phoenix this year and in July I plan to attend the ones in Flagstaff. I am really excited about this one cause I not only get to meet my favorite Scottish author again, but get to see The Wicked Tinkers band in concert! whoo hoo! this will be Saturday July 17th!
Found out last week about the Long Beach Celtic Festival on August 14th! You'll have to tie me down to keep me from going, w/Wolfstone, Wicked Tinkers, and Gaelic Storm playing.

Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing? Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing? Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing? They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning? ~ J.R.R. Tolkien

What????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are naughty for posting this! Nobody should be allowed that much fun! I am jealous, of course. I didn't know they would all be in concert in Long Beach or I would have been there! My mother lives 30 minutes from there! I have the Wicked Tinkers CD "Hammered" which is wonderful. Ordered the latest one by Wolfstone and love Gaelic Storm! Ahhhhhhhhhhh, well. You will just have to tell us how the concert is and I will tell you how my Wicked Tinkers in Flagstaff on July 17th and The Corrs in concert at the Kodak theatre the night of August 14th!
P.S. Are cameras allowed at these concerts? I have seats 6 rows from the stage at the Kodak theatre for The Corrs, but somebody told me NOT to take my camera as it will be taken away. Is that true? It has been years since I have been to a concert.

Generally, cameras are verboten. I don't know though, how vigorous enforcement is, since I haven't been to a concert in ages either. One idea: take one of the "single use" cameras; then you've lost little if it's taken.
I will be going to the Radford Highlander Festival in October on the campus of Radford University in VA. Its not a big festival, but they always have a live band every year. At past festivals I have seen Kilt, Brother, and Enter the Haggis. Don't know who is slated for this year.
I would like to go to other festivals but most are either farther away than I care to drive or more expensive than I care to pay.

Well, I will defintely take my camera to The Wicked Tinkers concert! It will be much more relaxed there at the Scottish Highland festival!
Rosemary, when you see the Tinkers, ask Warren (bass drum), if he is the same Warren Casey who is registered on CR. If it is, tell him to get on here and start posting with us.
