I used to be able to post photos as a signature with my posts. I have always used photobucket to do this. I deleted my old picture sig and wanted to add a new, but now I can't! I usually use photobucket to upload images here and now for some reason the url from photobucket will not work. I keep getting an error message in here saying something about that url will not work and that I need a domain name? Did something change that I am not aware of and if not, can someone just help me anyway?

Also, what is the maximize size we can use for a sig photo? many thanks!

Hi Celtic Rose. I use photobucket. It's been awhile since I tried it though.
As far as I know it still works.
My photo looks kind of big but I don't have much else in my signature. Your no way stupid. I hope you get it figured out. This stuff can be so frustrating..

Unless photo bucket is blocking third party sites from displaying photos, then it should work.

Can you type the URL here and I will try it myself and see if it will work.

Most forums use something called IB code which is a simple mark up language. For example, you place the URL in between these tags:

CODE

[IMG] URL [/IMG]

To get the picture to display.

Well this is kind of embarrassing...but I got it working via photobucket. But...it was not all my fault! Apparently I was having some computer issues with both my ISP and Dell computers! I have been on the phone with both of them this week and they worked out many bugs and issues that I didn't even know I had! Afterwards, lo and behold, I can get photobucket working and now I have my sig working! unsure.gif

Thanks all for your help and sorry to be a bother.

"You got a Dell dude!" I my humble opinion that should read "DUD"

I have a Dell now and it is a piece of crap, always locking up, etc. I miss my Packard Bell!!!!

Hey dude! wink.gif I hear either very good or very bad things about Dell's pc's! The one thing I can say good about them is when I need them, they are there to do their dell connect remote control and find their customer service to be excellent. However, depending on who you get as tech support in the world, you can either get your Dell fixed or majorly screwed up. Not sure if I will buy another. But read the recent consumer reports regarding which pc's to buy and they were Sony and Dell. So maybe I will! cool.gif Does Packard Bell have good customer service or do you have to take it to the nerd patrol at Best Buy or Circuit City? Just curious as I am trying to decide for the future. Many thanks!

Packard Hell no longer exists (thankfully).

They were bought by Compaq which was then bought by HP. (neither of these helped matters much though)

My first IBM PC was a Packard Bell 486 SX/25. The Power supply went out and the replacement cost about twice what it would have for any other PC. The word 'proprietary' is evil, and these machines are full of it.

I have a Dell and I love it. I also have the Dell help and it does come in handy.

The only thing that drives me nuts is my cd tower blows like crazy heats up my office....lol...anything I can do about that? If I reboot and start over it helps. I try and keep things to a minimum that are running. Half the time I don't know what they are so I am afraid to delete them...

Ironicly, my first IBM PC was an IBM PC.
Being the used computer collector that I am, I agree with the "stay away from anything proprietary" statement. Cost is a factor, as is availability- and even where it can be repaired.

Rindy, perhaps you can advise me; I am trying to copy & paste a saved picture/banner to my signature. I saved the picture in my personal PC as I have done with my Avatar (it worked before). However, I am having difficulties; I can copy it from my file, but when I try to paste it, the dropdown box will not allow me (it is a faded menu). Would there be a Forum in the Community to direct me?
