I haven't . . . say more about them. Where do you hear them play? What's their style and repertory like?

I absolutely love Oysterband!
"Blood Red Roses" and "Don't Slit Your Wrists For Me"
are among my favorites. ( actually discussed covering them in our shows )
Excellent band with an awesome sound. Superb song-writing.
If you haven't heard them, you owe it to yourself to check 'em out!

Not just New York girls, but when you grow up in a small town mostly Polish you do learn how to Polka(weddings, funerals,or for any ole' reason). Bronson Michiagn last week-end in July "Polish Festival Days".

Just emailed the band last night about coming overseas and got this response today.

My email:

Just recently discovered your band and I'm hooked big time. Huge fan!
Have you ever toured the States?? Do you plan coming overseas anytime
in the future??? Love to have you here. You have a great sound. Keep
it going!

Oysterband:

Welcome aboard, sir!

Oysterband haven't been in the US since 2002, but it is just possible
we might be able to dip our toe in the water there again in summer
2009 - there are conversations ongoing with Canadian festivals, but
Canadian festivals alone would only occupy weekends. Horribly
complicated with work permits and repeated border crossings, though,
so don't hold your breath....

It'll be splashed on the band website if it's going to happen, I promise.

Thanks for your interest, and the kind words - appreciated.
