| Malcolm Jones, guitarist with the band Runrig, is seriously ill in hospital after collapsing at Waverley rail station in Edinburgh on Sunday. It is understood he had been playing with band-mate Iain Bayne on the Black Isle north of Inverness and had been returning to his home in Fife. A spokesman for Runrig confirmed that he had been taken ill and said they wished him a speedy recovery. The band's tour of Germany, Austria and Switzerland has been cancelled. A statement on the band's official website said: "We regret to announce that guitarist Malcolm Jones has been taken ill and as a result we have been forced to cancel the forthcoming tour of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. "We are deeply sorry for the short notice and obvious inconvenience that this will cause. Ticket holders should contact their vendor for refunds. "We will give you more information as soon as possible. However, in the meantime we are sure you will join us in wishing Malcolm a speedy recovery." | Dreadful! Does anyone know how he's faring now, and what it is that's the matter with him? I'm sure we all here wish him the very best -- that band has my heart like no other. |

| This news was up on the website. This was as of the March 13th. Well wishes sent his way. We are delighted to inform you that Malcolm is now recovering well. Doctors and hospital staff are delighted with his progress and today he has been up and about briefly. He will continue to undergo further tests to determine what, if any, further treatment is required. We would like to take this opportunity of thanking you for your kind thoughts and messages of support they are of great encouragement to Malcolms family at this time. Slainte |
