I'd like to share a poem with my highlander radio friends...
I pluck daydreams from thin air. (trap them behind my eyes) access them whenever I must escape the everyday routine. In my mouth I savor them like sweet seeds. In them I am a happy eccentric, an artist who has prevailed, a woman who does not fear, a fiercely loyal friend, a most fulfilling lover. I see a house by the sea filled with books and music and magic... eccentric visitors whose laughter and heated philosophies hover over glasses of red wine while gangly dogs snooze in the moonlight. The Green Man and Faerie Girl: Are you but dead ringers in a life I conjure? Will I awaken to find you both gone? When you have your children, your tribes you will forget this old woman in the house by the sea, murmuring spells and casting daydreams into the fire.

There is a vitality, a life-force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and be lost. -martha graham
