Celtic Radio Community > Politics & Current Events > Wall St. Protest In Midwest.

An attempt was made to organize a protest in an area community of considerable size. They anticipated a turn out of 200-300.

Though unemployment/under employment are high in the area, 4 people were in attendance including the organizer.

I suspect it was due to the conservative nature of the community.

I have listened to the complaints and other things they wand and though some are valid, many are not. Jobs are and complaints re: wall st. are valid also though indictments and prosecutions are taking place regularly. Recently a sentence of 11 years was handed down and was one of the harshest ever.

Free education, housing and etc. are not. The nation is broke and even if we were not, those are not practical ideas.

Should the economy continue to collapse, which is not entirely out of the realm of possibility and hyper-inflation grip the nation, which is now a given, there will be a lot of abandoned real estate. Maybe those can be the free housing but then there will be many worse problems to deal with.

It was announced that there were 12,000 plus protesters supporting the cause nationwide today. Not many out of a total of 6.97 billion inhabitants.

The number has been revised upward to 20,000 plus and could grow as daylight moves around the globe.
