While free is great would you be willing to chip in a few bucks even $1 to help increase broadband listener spots?

The way I see it, Paul's given me a wonderful forum to talk with good people and listen to the world's best music in the meantime.
I know The Hooligans appreciate the exposure, as do I.
As our store gets up and rolling, we'll do whatever it takes to throw support this way!

Big finance is not one of my strong points, but I was wondering, wouldn't there be some sort of benefit (taxes, etc.) to Paul in receiving voluntary donations as opposed to a bonafide subscription? Maybe that would only work if he was completely "not for profit". Just curious.

Wellhe wouldn't qualify since he's looking to open an E-Store on the site so would be making income via the site so that would disqaulify any tax exempt status, though some of you already know my feelings on taxation! mad.gif

[FONT=Courier][COLOR=blue][SIZE=14]I Haven't checked lately, but it seems the only way to donate any funds, is through PayPal. I'm not a fan of PayPal and I'm sure I'm not alone. If Paul had other alternatives for listeners to choose from, I feel he would raise more funds for the cause (and what a terrific cause). I know, having to deal with personal checks or dealing with credit card numbers would be a hassle for Paul but maybe a secure section could be added for credit cards. If Paul is adding the store, most likely he will have the secure site in place and the donation listing could be an option.

PayPal, just simply is not an option for me.

Well I think he's ending up using Pay Pal because that is what the broadcasting company is using for this. Though maybe he might have other options once the stores open but unsure when he plans this to happen. But maybe Paul has other options he could suggest. I know for me I used it to donate some money and worked fine for me. smile.gif

For the time being pay pal is the only way to donate. We really can not have credit card transactions as it costs $60-$120 a month for the merchant account and all of the services you need to be functional. Plus we would have to upgrade our site to SSL (secured socket layer).

I will see if there are any other services available that we can use to get donations.

[SIZE=7][COLOR=blue]Alternative to PayPal

[SIZE=1] I use PayPal extensively when dealing with on-line orders from Americans, but Canadians for some reason either dislike, or just can't use PayPal. I do a fair amount of business with Canadians using Western Union's on-line service. http://www.westernunion.com

It may be an option worth considering.

This is a great suggestion! Thank you. I will be developing the donation section over the next few weeks and will try to have two options available. Western Union looks like an international option.
