1) I will have a cup of coffee in the morning and read my newspaper like I used to, before the Internet.
2) I will eat breakfast with a knife and fork and not with one hand typing.
3) I will get dressed before noon.
4) I will make an attempt to clean the house, wash clothes, and plan dinner before even thinking of the Internet.
5) I will sit down and write a letter to those unfortunate few friends and family that are Internet-deprived.
6) I will call someone on the phone who I cannot contact via the Internet.
7) I will read a book . If I still remember how. (note-I love to read & have discovered some of my fav authors come in e-book--whew I still get my net with my books)
8) I will listen to those around me and their needs and stop telling them to turn the TV down so I can hear the music on the Internet.
9) I will not be tempted during TV commercials to check for email.
10) I will try and get out of the house at least once a week, if it is necessary or not.
11) I will remember that my bank is not forgiving if I forget to balance my checkbook because I was too busy on the Internet.
12) Last, but not least, I will remember that I must go to bed sometime ... And the Internet will always be there tomorrow!
it's amazing i get anything done, really. but there are so many of you that i'm used to "seeing" everyday that i at least have to pop in to say 'Hi!'
that said, i'll be missing you all this week as the family and I are headed to California for some sun and fun.

warm heart, warm hearth bring me to thee- out of the world's bluster and bite. i'll hold my children in a place soft and light, and welcome the wanderer that knocks at my door.
my husband got a new laptop from his work right before we left on our trip, and i kept trying to sneak off with it to check email, our extended family website, CR and HGTV.com. am i obsessed? should i seek professional help?
Maybe there is a support group website for us internetaholics? I'm actually wearing a brace on my hand because I'm on the computer so much it hurts! Now that is really bad isn't it!

1. I had an internet connection at home. 2. The public library allowed people to have beverages. 3. The library was open that late. (My library closes at 9pm Mon-Thu, 5pm Fri & Sat)

No, Just tell family you have important work to do. Do it at the dinner table. Dont even sneak off. Fellow addicts will understand and go along with it. Non addicts will buy the story and look on with admiration. Just try to not get gravy on the keyboard.
