I was there over 30 years ago and still remember the beauty of the venue. It is definitely the most scenic games that I've ever attended.

We will be there for our 1st Highland Dance competition. It was about 6-7 years ago we had everything planned and unfortunately I had an allergic reaction to anti-botics from a tooth procedure and ended up in the hospital.

Looking forward to 2 days of fun on Sat and Sun and Albanach, massed bands and of course some meat pies! biggrin.gif

Have to report the 38th Highland Games at Loon was terrific! Caught 2 shows each of Albannach and Hot Chili Pipers. Unbelievable. I have no voice left and I spent most of today recovering from the weekend. Lots of meat pies, fish and chips, lamp and thumbs with gravy (yum).

Will be at Scotland, CT in 2 weeks for their games. Lovin the games!

https://nhscot.org/

"Our History: The New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival was born out of the Clan Picnic organized by the Capt. John D. Murray, Evelyn Murray and Tom Lenthall, held on the first Sunday in August 1975 at Loon Mountain. The Games have grown to become one of the largest and most diverse commemorations of Scottish art and culture in North America. It was the initial success of that picnic which led to the founding of the first New Hampshire Highland Games in 1976. From this foundation, the inspiration grew to hold an annual event and formalize an organization which became known as The New Hampshire Gathering of the Scottish Clans, Inc. Incorporated as a nonprofit corporation, the organization d.b.a. NHSCOT is dedicated to the furtherance of dance, music, athletics and customs of the Scottish people and the continuance of the Gaelic culture."

Massive Schedule with such a variety of activities and options!
