| I don`t know why after all this years we can find sites dedicated to medieval age. certainly it must be something magic or mystic in that age. something lost in a knowledge loop... To be continued |

| This research examined the applicability of the Medieval Kingdom social role topology (Adcock & Segal, 1983) with kindergarten children and assessed the association between the social roles children assumed and seven nonbehavioral variables. One hundred and seventy-three children from 10 kindergarten classes in two schools participated. Hypotheses that the Medieval Kingdom topology could be distilled from a sample of kindergarten children and that specific nonbehavioral variables including cognitive ability, physical attractiveness, self-esteem, and chronological age were related to the assumption of leadership roles within the topology were confirmed. Children's gender, birth order, and number of siblings were not found to influence the status within the social hierarchy. The findings suggest that the Medieval Kingdom is a potentially useful heuristic for understanding the peer relationships of young children. |

| Maybe between the whole development that human being lives from it`s conception to it`s death, the medieval age corresponds to that chronoligical age in human living. And as a matter of fact it seems to be the most magical part of our lives. Good point. Dejame masticarlo Deus Vos Curet |

| Perhaps the reason so much magic or mystical can be associated with the Medieval age still exists is because of what we still don't know about it. I'm no history major by any means but much of the medieval era I am familiar with was referred to as "The Dark Ages" From fall of Rome to the spread of Christianity across Western Europe all we have is stories of magic. King Arthur for one I believe, is a good example of this myth and wonderment. As for the study involving children and the loss of innocence I would put television and mass media on the line for that, as well the lack of control parents tend to have (or take responsibility for) when allowing the youngest to be consumed by it. Some kids play with spaceships others toy swords but what child hasn't wanted to be king or queen of a castle at some point in their youth? |
