Sekhmet,

Wow! I've just been to your group's site, and have read through some of the investigations, checked out the webcams and captured shots, read through the informational section about the group's intentions and goals, and the section explaining the expectations regarding current members and interested hopefuls. It's a very informative site, easily navigated, and I wish I had more time!! I've bookmarked it, and will be back.

Your answers were great, and confirmed a lot of what I'd already suspected about the drama factor on some sites. I couldn't really accept that so many spirits intended harm, and had found more reason to believe most were benign. I also tend to gravitate towards groups that strongly advocate getting permission when on private property, working with local law officers, working in groups as opposed to investigating by yourself, etc...Those groups demonstrate professionalism right from the start and I'm much more inclined to believe/accept their findings.

Thanks for an interesting night!

Actually, to be perfectly fair...OKCGC's not my "home" group. I'd love to be a more official part of their team, but apart from living in the wrong state to begin with, I'm just their audio-to-chat transcriber for the Saturday investigations. I'm also learning a *lot* from sitting with them and talking in the down-time, and taking notes from their other investigations, etc.

*My* home group is Spirited. www.spiritedghosthunting.com

And we're...a lot more relaxed on there. LOL But they're a wonderful group to work with too. Most of our information hasn't been posted, partially because of dislosure agreements and because Rachelle's lazy. ::looks around to see if she's gonna get smacked:: angel_not.gif And a warning for the forum...we swear like sailors on there. LOL

Our first scheduled hunt will be in Mansfield, Ohio in April, so hopefully we'll get some good stuff to post. We might be going to the Harmony Inn nearby here sooner than that. Then this summer in June we'll be at the Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, and Gettysburg. There'll be others, but those are the ones I *know* we're doing so far.

Harmony Inn is still on a back burner. We'll get to them, though.

Mansfield is April 16th, so I'll keep you posted once we get back.

Oddly enough, I managed to get a job out of ghosthunting. We were speaking to the owner of a B&B there, because she has property. We want to do our overnight investigation there since it's still battlefield, even if it's private property. Anyway, she asked if one of us could come down and do demonstrations and teach others how to do this, and it got put into my court, since I know Gettysburg. I start Saturday. LOL

I plan on doing some hunting on my own once my demo's done Saturday night. Here's hoping I can get something!

Yeah, I didn't phrase that quite right, now that I read that over again...

I'll be going with a girlfriend of mine. I meant "on my own" as opposed to taking the entire "class" with me. LOL!

The guest list for this class is climbing at the last minute. I'm more nervous than a hemophiliac in a razorblade factory now.

Don't worry! You're going to be fine! Actually, it sounds like a great class to take. They're lucky that they have someone as knowledgable as you teaching them--I'm a tad jealous. Just treat it as a relaxed group of friends researching a new idea.

Enjoy yourself!

Sekhmet,

How did your class go? How many students did you wind up with? Will you be giving any more classes now, or was this a special case? While I'm on a roll with the questions... ( tongue.gif )... how did the Harmony Inn investigations go? Were there any surprises?

Okay, enough questions for now! I've just been thinking of you, and wondering.

The class went well! I only had three people with me, but it was a nice and cozy arrangement in which I dropped the "classroom" aspect and just sat down and taught these three over tea and cookies the hows and whys of ghosthunting. Fortunately I got rave reviews and I'll be back later this year. thumbs_up.gif

Unfortunately, we didn't get jack in the way of evidence. LOL I *did* have something odd happen to me and my car on the following Sunday on the battlefield, but I honestly can't say what exactly happened and if it could be attributed to a ghost or just me being mechanically disinclined. Scared the holy bejeezus out of me, though.

Harmony Inn is on hold. We're having trouble getting schedules to mesh, but it's still on the "to-do" pile.

Last night I was at a private residence and got some audio recording done, which I'm still in the process of reviewing. Things got kind of strange in spots during the night. At one point I saw a bluish-white orb zip from just outside the back bedroom door frame and into the room, there were oddball shadow movements every so often, and the homeowner got a good scare when he said something kicked the couch he was sitting on at the time. Here's hoping they were feeling talkative too. LOL

Next week is Mansfield Reformatory in Ohio. The Friday before we're going to be at a private residence again, then trekking out to Mansfield, then we're visiting other team members out "that way" and going on a cemetery hunt. I'll be unconscious till at least Tuesday after that. rolleyes.gif

You know I don't mind questions! Keep 'em coming if you're inclined.

Sekhmet,

Congrats on the great class!! I'm glad this first one was so relaxed and easy for you - that's important.

What happened to your car?? I hope you were able to get it fixed, and weren't stranded. I hate it when they break down! I'm never sure what to do, and I'm afraid that I'm also a bit distrustful of new mechanics, from past bad experiences.

It sounds like you have a very full schedule for a while. Good luck with everything!

Sorry I haven't been around much, guys. My daughter's been in and out of the hospital with her asthma and a few other things. I wasn't ignoring anyone, I swear.

The car thing was pretty interesting. It was about 6PM and I had spent most of the day doing little bits of recording and talking with people off and on...anyway, it was starting to slow down on the battlefield, and I was in my car coming down off Devil's Den and approaching the Wheatfield. I had my foot off the gas and was letting it drift slowly as I glanced out the window to determine if there were a lot of people in the area I was thinking of trying for another recording session. The speed limit is 25mph, and I was probably going a little slower than that, figuring I could just hit the brake and pull over and park.

Out of nowhere, the engine revs and the car jerks forward like I'd just stood on the gas. I startled and slammed my foot down on the brake, and with my full weight on the brakes (brand new brakes I might add) I was still creeping forward. I panicked and slapped the transmission into neutral, and the engine about red-lined. Not knowing what else to do, I just killed the ignition and went dead in the middle of the road. I'd missed hitting a guy's car by inches.

So after checking the gas pedal and putting the car into park, plus adding the parking brake and my foot on the brakes besides, I started the engine again, expecting it to be going nuts again. No, the wench turned over nice as you please.

I have no idea what made the car do that. She behaved the rest of the night, and hasn't pulled anything like it since. I took her into the garage and of course they couldn't find anything and think I've finally lost my mind. Was it a ghost? Doubt it. But man, the timing on that! LOL

Sekhmet,

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's asthma, and sure hope she's feeling better again! My sister's had a few of those terrible attacks in her life, too, and they are very frightening for everyone in the family. No one should ever have to go through that, especially children!

I don't know what to make of your car's strange behavior, either, but it's eerie that it happened when it did. Had you been there gathering data for just a little while, I'd have chalked it up to just a freak problem with the engine that solved itself. Since you were there most of the day, though,........... unsure.gif Maybe we should ask OldRaven about this one! What kind of car is it, and what year? I seem to remember hearing about one model a few years ago that had engine problems like this, but I'd have thought it would have happened on a regular basis. I don't know..... fear.gif

Take care of yourself!! Give your daughter hugs, and tell her we're thinking of her, too, please. Good luck with the car, and be careful.
