Are there any other people here with this condition? The closer to opening day for Scarborough Faire here in Dallas/Ft. Worth the more antsy I get.

Antsy, is that even a word? unsure.gif

I just keep thinking about seeing the Rogues, the story tellers, the acrobats, the human chess match, the jousting matches, THE HIGHLAND GAMES!!!!! GAH! even the outrageously expensive food and drink! How could I forget that?!! Mmmmmmmmm, turkey legs, steak on a stake.... drool.gif

Anyway, I was wondering how many other "rennies" there are here and if I'm unique in my condition?

~goes to their website to get her fix~

I'm eagerly awaiting the Chicago South Side Irish parade the Sunday before St. Patrick's Day. Also the Irish Fest at Chicago Gaelic Park over Memorial Day weekend.

emerald would i do it again? ahhh yea...
as a musician it was ok you did 6 half hour sets. the thing i didnt like was
the parade at noon.... some of the patrons were/are down right spooky.
it does really eat up your weekends for 9 weeks (my wife wasnt to hot on the idea of me working there)... i would physically work harder there then at my job. by the end of the day i was pretty much exhausted. feet hurt from wearing "dream shoes" all day no support.... and i gotta say i have been paid better. but on the other hand i met some great people and made some close friends that i still have to this day. i stopped working the "faire" about 3 years ago.
stopped there this year after 3 years.... and was amazed at the people that still remembered and and that old friendships didnt wane........

i got in with an audition .... check you local faire website they should have info there. which faire do you go to?

if your not a performer you can probably work a shop they are always looking for help..... (you should be able to get info for that on the site also)..... but then you are pretty much stuck at that shop all day .... which isnt bad if it is in a good spot and is a cool shop..... *s* i wouldnt mind selling instruments.... or yea maybe swords.... starwars.gif

there probably more than you ever wanted to know....*L*

No, thanks! I appreciate it. I wanted to hear from someone who has done it. The one I go to is in Holly, Michigan. I have their website and have been going over it. I knew it would take some time to get use to. I get tired walking around in the heat just shopping, lol. But I think I would really enjoy the experience. Yeah those swords are really cool. I will buy one of those some day. Thanks again, Dundee.

Ren Faires are something we have not really touched upon at CelticRadio.net; however, in a few weeks we should be finishing off the first part of a brand new website called "Arms & Badges" which will have a medieval themed community forum with subjects ranging from medieval to Ren Faires to topics on Heraldry.

The two forums will be joined with gateway links; but there will be no overlapping in topics. Arms & Badges will me geared towards medieval and will contain our estore, CelticRadio.net is geared towards Celtic music, history and culture.
