I was just wondering where you purchase your libations?
I usually go to the nearby liquor store, which has always had a good selection of beer.
The other day though, I went to a liquor store by my sister's house. It was one of those specialty liquor stores that has popped up recently. I went in there and was blown away at their beer selection .
May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
Wasn't sure how to vote. We live in a dry county. 42 miles to closest booze. I buy the beer at United. It's cheaper than the liquor store. I buy the other stuff at the liquor store.

I buy beer at the grocery store. As for liquor, in North Caroplina, there's no choice but the ABC store (Alcohol Control Board, a county run operation under control of the state).
Other than that. (In high school, my biology teacher spent an entire six week grading period teching us how to make sour mash whiskey because "we needed something to fall back on".)

They still have the state-run liquor stores? My friend who works in Virginia says they still have 'em there too.
I vaguely remember them in Illinois. The liquor store I go to regularly used to be one.
BTW, if you ever need some good small or medium size boxes, go to a liquor store. They got plenty of them and they're more than happy to give 'em to you.
Brother Carolina, without them stills how else do you expect us to stay married to our cousins/nieces/sisters? Y'all do that up there in the Carolinas too, don't you?
Although it does make plotting your family tree a bit more difficult.
Also, Florida used to have only state-run stores, didn't they? I haven't been down there in years, so I don't know if anything's changed.
And liquor stores do have some of the best boxes (free too) you can find anywhere. Although it's a bit of a downer on Christmas morning when you tear the wrapping off your present, see a box from a case of The Glenlivet, and open the box only to find a year's supply of boxer shorts.
You can only buy liquor at a liquor store in Canada, including beer. Barring near beer, of course. In Alberta, liquor sales are privatised, so there are a billion and one places to get booze. Nova Scotia still has province run stores. You can only get booze at the NSLC (Nova Scotia Liquor Comission).
