Ok folks, we've got a rather concerning email today from the Alabama Welsh Association and a historical plaque in memory of Prince Madoc (Welsh Explorer) who quite possibly was one of the first explorers to the New World.

The plaque was placed by the Daughters of the Revolution and has now been removed by the Alabama Parks Department.

A like plague was erected at the ancient port of Aber-Kerrik at Rhos-on-Sea in North Wales where Prince Madog was to have departed on his expedition.

We can hardly stand by and let such a historical Welsh memorial be forgotten and thrown away. If the Daughter's of the Revolution thought it was important enough to erect a historical plaque then it is something we need to fight for and help our Alabama friends out with this effort.

What good is Celtic Radio if we can not make a difference and help those in need when our cultural heritage is at risk.
