Without thinking too hard on it....the creation of the wheel.

What if you could go back and relive one moment in your life...what would it be?

It's kind of a story. . . When I was 11, one winter morning I got down to a perfect newly-surfaced large pond at the end of my street -- it had rained and then frozen. And I got there at dawn, it was bitter cold but beautiful, with my skates and I just skated wildly all over the brand new ice of the pond while the sun came up, until I had marked the whole thing, before another soul got there. It was like the morning of the world to me.

I want to answer the question before that too -- I wish I could have seen and heard the performance Marian Anderson gave in 1939 on Easter Sunday, standing outside before the great statue in the Lincoln Monument -- because the DAR would not let her sing in the Constitution Hall, because she was black.

If the wheel had not been invented, then we would not be in this darn gas crisis...since we would all be on boats, horses or something...

What if you woke up tomorrow and no one could see or hear you???

I would be very very happy. I've always wanted that kind of land. Maybe I would build a ranch and hire cowhands and whatnot... OOOO the possibilities!

What if there was no such thing as multimedia entertainment?

And with dew from his eye often wet it.
It grows through the bog, through the brake, through the
Mireland, and they call it the dear little shamrock of Ireland.

I would make my way to the church down the road and sign up for sign language classes.

Oh, and what if pigs had wings? (Get the umbrella!!! scared.gif Don't worry -- they never will. smile.gif But if people did do that, they might tuck down and solve their own messes faster.)

What if you smiled at everyone you met all day long, and no one smiled back?

I would 'sacrifice' my poor attitude at work.

What if you could change one thing about your personal appearance? What would it be?

The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error. ~John Stuart Mill, On Liberty, 1859

Before I did anything else I would give 10% to my church. Then I would build my mother and my in-laws new houses, pay off all of their bills, as well as my own, Take a nice long trip to Scotland, and donate some to help with Hurricane Relief efforts. I would also send a nice large chunk to Paul for mainaining CelticRadio and buying new music!

What if you were stranded on a deserted island and only had 10 cds with you (and a solar battery of course wink.gif )? Which ones would you want them to be?
