What was that title I saw in a dream last night... it was actually on a book... But felt like a preview of her next CD perhaps... Probably just wishful thinking...

My favourite is still Alex Beaton. But the Corries and the Irish Rovers are great too.

Even though this is a old thread I had to go with Loreena. Enya last album wasn't the boldest step so she went down a level for me. If Loreena wasn't up there I would have gone with other for the Battlefield Band

I admire the talent behind the Battlefield Band, but last time I saw them live ( about 1 year ago), they were far too political in their commentaries. If I wanted a spin on the news, I'd stayed home and watched TV. If they had just stuck to the music, it would have been perfect.

That's too bad. When political views overshadow the music then its just not fun to listen to anymore. I haven't had the chance to see them live. They were in town twice and I missed them both time due to lack of funds. But who knows-bands ad their views change over time.

Of the listed artists, I would choose Loreena McKennitt, but my vote is for other. My favorite is Capercaillie and Karen Matheson.

I'm all for Silly Wizard and Battlefield Band meself. Favorite solo performer has become Ed Miller, since I've encountered his singing on CR. thumbs_up.gif

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk about pulling a thread out of hibernation!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's nearly three years that this baby has been lingering in the archives!!!!!!!

Almost makes me want to go into the attic and see what I can find.

Hehe, oh why not, since the thread sprouted new wings.
Favourites at the moment, Bothy Band, Lunasa, Great Big Sea, John Doyle with anyone, but especially Liz Carroll, Alain Stivell, Celtic Fiddle Festival and us (but I'm partial)
