I have been away for a long time and I was wondering if anyone else knew anything about the CD contest. It seems so few people are active on here anymore. I am relatively new, but it seems that there were more new posts a long while ago. Some of the CDs looked really good, but I sometimes forget to enter. Good luck trying to enter and good luck this month.
I believe there have been a few reasons for the lack of traffic on forums. Facebook is probably the biggest. After that is the decline of music sales through stores. Everything is now done by download. I use to be able to go into a WalMart and find a World Music section and there would always be a few good Irish CD's. Only Irish music they have now is Celtic Thunder and Celtic Women and at times I really wouldn't define them as Irish. Now there isn't even a world music section in Barnes and Noble so finding any good music is hard if you don't have internet access. Of course there is my own problem which is working my arse off on night shift. What computer time I had is now being taken up by sleep time. But I'm glad to see this forum is still holding on. I do check in once in a while and I listen at work even if it sometimes does get a little too much of the new age/bookstore type of Irish music at night for me. Hope it stays around for a long time. Never know when things will pick up again. In the meantime don't forget about the FB page. If one area get slow we can always pick it up in another area. Spread the word, Share the posts.

So yes, things have been a little slow on the forum and we have not had too many posts or updates. We've had a number of technical issues and a backlog of music and orders from our store. The good news is we are now caught up, so we plan on resuming some posting soon.
Something we have discovered recently is that our mobile app and website is experiencing a surge in visits and listening. Celtic Radio was developed during the days when Desktop was king. Now, I would say 60% or more of our traffic is mobile and unfortunately we do not have a combined desktop/mobile website. Right now they are two different sites.
But we plan on continuing Celtic Radio for a very long time. Who knows, we might eventually do a site redesign that will work with both desktop and mobile.

Of course, this is STILL the best place for Celtic music!! And it's still good to run into folks here rin the forums.
The work that has gone in (and STILL goes in) to the work on this site is challenging, but it sure is worth it to those of us who get to listen and be involved.

CELTIC RADIO, hope you dont do away with the desktop format. My whole family loves Celtic Radio. We live way out in the tall timber where mobile devices dont work. We all depend on computers and tablets to connect to the internet and celtic radio.
