Our "Claim Your CD" contest this month inclues 4 CDs up for grabs because they were left unclaimed! sad.gif

Skully - Irish Makeover
Jim Malcolm - The First Cold Day
Sharon Kaye - Over the Ocean
Mabon - OK Pewter

The rules of this contest: You must be a Celtic Radio Founder to participate. If you won any prize in the last 60 days you are excluded from this contest.

We could begin the contest at any time starting now. Here is how it works. We will post the CD up for grabs and the first person to post "I Claim this CD" wins that CD. Note, you must specifically write "I Claim this CD" to win.

Contest will be starting soon. Most likely we will give 2 CDs away tonight and 2 tomorrow! thumbs_up.gif

Alright!

Yeah, I've decided now to drop my music format grudgings and accept CDs again. Vinyl really is an expensive format to get something put out on and for the budding artists we got on here who in many cases aren't well established, CD's the only option besides online release.

One of these:

I work in a sewing factory believe it or not, one that's expanding and doing major capital improvements to expand production capacity. We do a LOT of sewn, non-lethal military products along with being really the largest remaining suspenders plant in the country, and business is still healthy. I've been spending the last several days putting buttons on leather straps for wader suspenders. I only work four days per two weeks though because I have disabilities that I need Medicaid to pay for, so I'm subject to an earnings ceiling, and four days are all I can safely work every pay period without risking that ceiling since I also get a disability check too. sad.gif

Posted by: Patriot1776 04-Oct-2009, 07:58 PM
RebeccaAnn, the plant I work at is a non-profit operation too that exists to give those in my area with physical and mental impairments a place to work and pull a paycheck, though we are self-supported and manage to operate with near-zero taxpayer funding.

Posted by: nixaya 04-Oct-2009, 08:07 PM
Alas, I can't stay up that late here on the East Coast, USA. Have fun winning CD's all! cool.gif

Posted by: RebeccaAnn 04-Oct-2009, 08:09 PM
That sounds like a great place. Wish we had something around here. There is no place where I live that hires handicapped. Infact physically and multiply handicapped are lucky if we get anything. That machine looks like it might hurt if fingers get in the way. Thank you for telling me. I wonder if I could learn to work that machine. Have a good day at work tomorrow.

Posted by: Patriot1776 04-Oct-2009, 08:14 PM
Thanks. My employer's website:

http://www.industrialopportunities.org/

For some of the sewn stuff we got in the Celtic Radio store, I have no doubt we could make them, except for the part of putting the CelticRadio logo on. We don't have the equipment yet to do that. Cutting out the raw materials and sewing them into the product, ready for the logo to be added, that we CAN do. ^^

That company looks great. Wish we had something like that in the midwest. We have nothing for physically handicapped. At the moment we haven't much for anyone.

Ok, we are going to give the next CD away at 11:30....in about 10 minutes. Be back soon!

Just so everyone knows, this month we are going to be giving away more CDs than usual because of a growing inventory of contest CDs. So, keep a listen on Highlander Radio and watch the site (including Twitter) for more oppotunities to win an AWESOME Celtic CD!

Posted by: RebeccaAnn 04-Oct-2009, 09:24 PM
What's twitter? Everyone seems to be talking about it. Only twitter I know is the sounds the birds make or an old tube radio.

Twitter is basically a blog or journal that you can monitor if you have a twitter account. You can post "Tweets" which are short 140 charactors posts that everyone can see.

Celtic Radio has been tweeting since June of 2008. We are using it now to report on our site and about new music received as well as contests.

<a class="img" title="Follow Celtic Radio on Twitter!" target="_blank" href="http://twitter.com/CelticRadio"><img src="http://www.celtichearts.com/php/images/twitter.gif" border="0" /><a>
