Being a life-long coffee/iced tea drinker, I have found yet another caffien addiction! I like hot English Tea! (coffee) I tried Darjeeling Tea (Capt. Pickard's Favorite), and it is good, but not nearly as good as Ahmad Breakfast Tea. It is dark like coffee and is excellent with 2 lumps of sugar, a dash of cream, and a "biscuit." Are there any other tea-drinkers who would like to share their favs here? I live near an International Foodstore that stocks its shelves with foods from all around the world!   (d)  :D

I Think Capt Pickard's favorite was Earl Grey as he always ordered it

I drink the Celestial Seasonings, Natural Herb Tea, Lemon Zinger.  This is a caffeine free tea.  I figure I get enough caffeine in coffee, so I try to decaffeinate my soda's and tea. I was advised by my doctor to cut back on the caffeine for my bones sake.  I like my tea hot with a little sweetner.  I drink english tea sometimes and I have drank the green tea. But my fav is the lemon zinger.  I like that zest of lemon.
As they say in jolly old England; "I'll have a spot of tea."  (coffee)

Scottish2, I believe that Picard ordered "Tea, Earl Gray, Hot" in several episodes, but also "Tea, Darjeeling, Hot" in a couple of episodes?

Maggie I do not drink any carbonated beverages at all, my poor stomache can only handle non-carbonated beverages. At the price I have to pay for Ahmad Tea, I will only drink it for "special occasions." Will you join me for a spot of tea?  :D  (coffee)  (coffee)

Tea... a very good idea! I drink tea the whole day long, a "bad" habit I brought back from Scotland ;)

I like Darjeeling, Orange Pekoe. With only a few crumbs of brown sugar and a wee splash of milk but also "O'Connor's Cream" from our local tea-store (aromatized with Whisky and Cream... it's sooo great! yum!;)

(coffee)  oohh, I'd like Darjeeling, too. With a small spoonful of sugar and a wee splash of milk, please!

Tea...

I'm not  a big fan of it and  even a month in Ireland didn't change my pont of view but I must admit that the real chinese green tea is delicious! I take some each time I'm going to eat in my favorite restaurant. (coffee)

But now that I read all your favorite tea, I think I'll try to drink more...probably the lemon one. :)  Thanks for bringing the subject on the board!

my parents adviced me not to drink as much tea as I usually do in the time of my exams... else I'll never sleep ;)

today I tried: "Kaisers Melange", aromatized with lemon and maracuja... that was good!

:) Well I don't drink coffee. I like earl gray, english breakfast, orange, black, black & orange, green, darjeeling and constant comment. Oh yes the one they serve in Chinese resterants. I like it hot, iced, plain, surgered, with lemon or cream. When we go out my daughter orders iced tea with cream, the waiter allways looks so strange, I just say; she's from Boston.
Just read in an artical from the Health Science Instatute that a new study has shown that if you drink tea (black, orange, or green)with a high colestrol meal, the tea will counter act the bad fat. It must work I had my colestrol checked last week and it was low.  :-0

Have your tea anyway you want, but as for me and my house it 'll be about 2 gallons of Ice. If its not broke why fix it?
lol  :D

Has anyone tried Lipton's...Green tea with orange, passionfruit and jasmine?  It is yummy!

Lipton's is the brand that Hubby swears by.  I was given Green tea with orange, for Chiristmas, which we like. I'll have to try that. Thanks!

I only use Twinings teas.  Lipton is almost totally an export brand nowadays, although it used to be much more common in the UK when I was a girl.

My favourites are

Earl Grey
Lady Grey
Lapsang Souchong
Orange Pekoe

and

Ceylon or Darjeeling for breakfast teas

You can't have a real Scottish 'high tea' without a good brand of tea  :D

Oh I thought Twinings, was the high priced inport brand!
I love the first on your list. We drink alot of the last on your list iced. I've never seen the two in the middle of your list.

Twinings teas are slightly more expensive than most, even here in the UK, but they are much better than most other brands I've tried.

Orange Pekoe is a chinese style tea - but very refreshing on a hot day!  I don't like iced tea at all, so I go for lighter blends like OP in the summer.

:D yeah i like tea at times as well (its better in the evening, especially when the thermostats not working right brrrr, next to uisge beatha lol). but besides all these posh brands (lipton, twinings, earl grey ...) i finally found out that theres only one real tea: guess what  - Scottish Blend ::hehe  ::luvscotland

I'm a coffee person. Tea just ain't my cup of tea.

Talking about tea.  Anybody remember getting/ collecting cards from the tea boxes.  I think it was Brooke Bond tea. You used to get fitba players, cricket players, birds, ships, cars, etc.

I for one would like to see them bring this back.  I always looked forward to getting the cards and putting them in the collectors book you had to send away for.  It was always a fight with my two brothers to see who would get the card. :D

For the record...I'm a plain Orange Pekoe man myself. (d)

I remember them!

In fact, about 10 years ago it was a great craze here to have original sets made up from those sticker album hingmies and put them in a beautiful frame...   Some of the sets are worth a lot of money nowadays!

You should have held onto the collections - probably enough to pay your airfare fur a trip haim  :D

I had a full collection of famous cricketers, (for some reason).  I bet that would have looked nice in a frame.  probably worth a few bob as you say.

Do they still have the PG Tips adverts on the tv, with the monkeys?  They were always a laugh. :D

You mean the bargain-basement old men's beers like Schlitz, Old Milwaukee and Coors? Ewwwwwwww! I lump them in with another one and call them "Milwaukee's Worst". It's only Miller Lite, Miller Genuine Draft, Michelob Golden Draft, Corona (w/lime), Molson, Moosehead, or a couple of microbrews available in the Midwest, Berghoff and Point Special, for me.

To be honest, I don't know about the chimps - don't get much chance to watch TV and when I do, I tend to use the programme breaks as an excuse to finish reading the paper which has often sat, unopened, since first thing in the morning!  I carry it to work in my briefcase, unopened, work through lunch, leaving it unopened and carry it home....  UNOPENED!

Back on topic, I think I read a while ago that they were not going to make any more chimp ads, the company felt it was time for a change - and as those chimp family ads have been on TV since ah wis a lassie, they ur ANCIENT!

Catriona:

You've got to take a break, and don't give me easier said than done.  The whole world is not going to stop if you take half an hour to read the newspaper,  especially on your lunch break.  Anyway, lecture over.

I know this is about tea, but tell me this.  My grannie, instead of coffee, would give us Camps Chickory Essence.  Do they still sell that stuff over there?

Posted by: Catriona 06-Feb-2003, 04:39 PM
Yes, Camp's Coffee is still available.

In fact, a recipe I have for a coffee cake just disnae taste the same if I use 'real' coffee!

Thanks for the advice re tekkin a brek.....    but, remind me....   whit's a lunch brek?! :D

My favorite teas:

Just plain old Lipton's
Bigelows Earl Grey

For sweet tea I like to use Luzianne
