The cost that you guys are speaking about is it per gallon?

Here in the UK we buy our gas by the litre - at the moment I'm paying approx £0.98 a litre, that is approx $1.80

1 litre is approx 0.26 of a US gallon - so I guess we're paying something in the region of $3.70

well, gas stations up here in Wisconsin are all screwy anyway...first we have a mandatory markup law that stations must sell at 6% above what it was purchased for...and then there's the automatic increases on the gas tax every April 1. So this morning's news of the Alaskan pipeline shutdown was not good news for me. Many stations on the way into work this morning were ranging between $3.19 and $3.39/gal.

Not looking forward to this at all...don't know how much more of my driving habits I can change...I go out so little now. I think I'm gonna have to tell the boss I can't afford to work overtime any more and start the car pool back up again.

I"m lucky in that the place I work for has an Eco Pass deal. I get to take the bus for 40 bucks a month. Since I have a 50 mile round trip commute it's been nice to take the bus. Plus the bus stop is right by my apartment.

I used to fill up my car once a week, and now it's down to once a month or so.

That's all? Wow! You're not as bad off as I'd figured. I've been guessing based on how our gas prices are that you'd be something like at least double that by now. Cheers!

I guess I'll have to find some other place with ultra high gas prices to point to and say 'see, we don't have it so bad.'

That'd be more like $7.20/gallon, at $1.80 a liter. Wouldn't it? eek.gif

That's great if you live where buses are practical, but here in the west they are a joke! Plus I can't haul my tools on a bus. They simply aren't an alternitive out here.

We are at $3.29 in Yooperland. Which really sinks cuz everybody around our town is at at least 5 to 10 cents cheaper. I really hope this ends soon.

Not likely now that BP has shut down the main oil field on the North Slope. They said it could be down for months. And that is 8% of our oil supply. thumbdown.gif

Oh, that is just lovely. Just what I needed, more expense. The gas stations here will probably raise their prices by another 50 cents. It seems any crisis will bring the price up now. Janet Jackson is topless (but covered with her arms) on Vibe mag this month. That should add 2 cents.
