This was written for Remembrance Day 11 Nov.2004.
A Soldiers Bond.

A Bond Exist That
Will Not Break
Between These Brothers
Forged In War
Tempered in The
Fire and Smoke
Annealed Within The
Blood Of Wounds
A Form Of Love
As Stong As Life
Born Midst Chaos
Fear And Strife
Shaped Within The
Sounds Of death
Washed Pure And Clean
With Sorrows Tears
On Side Of Right
Or Side Of Wrong
These Men Who Answered
Dutys' Call
And Placed Their Lives
In Way Of Harm
Fought NOt For Country
Nor For King
But For His Brother
By Whose Side
He Stood Or Fell
He Lived Or Died
Now As The Years
Slip Fast Away
The Memories Fresh
As Yesterday
The Hand Help Fast
The Uttered Sigh
The Cradled Head
The Last Goodbye.

Well, I missed this one too. tongue.gif

This is an honorific poem for those who not only helped but for those that died in doing so also. Very touching Camac.LOA

LOA.
ALBA
'Tis in the Blood, the Soul
And in the Heart
A longing, a calling
Pulling you, Haunting you
It will not let you be
It knows not your name
Nor does it care

It calls to you
At break of Day
And when the night
Will have it's sway,
It teases with the tang
Of salt-sea air
With perfumes of the Pines
And Heather fair

It stirs the heart
With the skirl of pipes
To choke the breathe
Within the throat
It causes tears to sting the eyes
And break the voice with longing sighs
Come Home to me
Come Home to where
Your heart is free.

Yes I know the feeling...Scotland is under my skin and I just don't know why everytime I look at my pictures and videos that we took there or even watch some documentary on PBS. I just can't help myself and start to cry for I long to return there and wishing that I could stay there for good.
My mom almost had an attack when I told her when I was very young that I did not have that feeling of belonging here. She just looked at me like I was from another planet or something. I was always attracted to that place without knowing why. Thank you for sharing it with me.LOA

My dear Camac,
At least you know why you have a sense of belonging which is great.
I wish sometimes that I could have that feeling too.
But by reading these wonderful poems it sooths the empty spaces of my soul.
And reminds me that I've been there and will go back.

Now, I'm waiting patiently for the next one.
And I started the transcription of yours in my special book.
Thank you very much. smile.gif LOA

My Lady of Avalon;
i have one more poem to post about my Grandma then I must takle a break from writing for a while. Let my brain catch up with the rest of me.
ANNIE LEE
Who was this woman
This tiny Cockney
Standing four foot eight
Not very tall you'll agree
But woe betide those
Who stood in the way
Of this tiny woman
I called Nanny.
Her name was Anne
From the Bow Bells
She came. That's in
London Town and
Cockney fame
She married a lad
From Galway you see
A good looking chap
Named Thomas Lee
Not long after the Nupt'ls
They crossed over the sea
Up the Clyde Firth
To a town near Barassie
The name of this town
Was Troon of course
And many a links could
This wee town boast.
It was here in Ayrshire
She made her home
Raising five daughters
Mostly alone. For thomas
Had left for the U.S.to work.
But Annie said no
I'll not follow this time
My home is here and here
I will bide.
Because of this choice
I am so proud to say
I'll Love Annie Lee
Till my dying day
Because of that choice
My Mom met my Dad
And to-gether they made
This proud Scottish Lad.

Oh! This is so good I specially like the end.
And my dear please I certainly don't want to pressure you.bangin.gif
I am a big tease you know and I did not know that you were writing just out of the blue like this.I thought that maybe you kept a journal of your poems and shared them with us.
Take all the brake you want my dear, but you have such a natural talent don't let it dormant for too long.
You're ever biggest fan. smile.gif LOA

LOA
Since I was in my late twenties I have been writing poetry but alas out of the roughly 200 only six survived. The other 190+ went in the garbage. I have been on a bit of a writing binge lately but I will take a break for a couple of weeks. Like I said let my brain catch up with the rest of me. As to you being my favourite fan methinks you are the only one and I thank you most sincerely.

LOA;

To be quiet honest my ex threw most of it out along with most of my books. Hey these things happen when people are hurt and upset.
