Until this administration, most awards were made posthumously. During VN there were a lot of military politics involved in the award. Today it seems that actual politics may be in play.

I would not presume to judge anyones actions but when the volume of awards becomes too great the award it's self is lessened. Those fighting today in the middle east are fighting a non uniformed enemy which greatly multiplies the stress level.

This was discussed over lunch amongst several veterans the other day two of whom were recipients of the DSC and the Bronze Star respectively.

Till that point I had thought little of it. I will pay more attention now.

Of the three living recipients of the MOH from Afghanistan I don't see one that didn't deserve it (Recent Recipients). There has been no living Iraq veteran awarded the MOH despite over 30000 wounded or injured (and over 4000 dead).
