Hullo there!

My name is Valerie, I live in Alberta Canada. I happily admit that I am a
'Cardiac Celt' (so identified as such by the Idiot's Guide to Celtic Wisdom tongue.gif ) and I am in the beginning stages of study as a Bard.

I have deep passion for horses and as an older child I developed a love of Arthurian Legend, then Celtic Mythology and Culture. I have a great affinity for music, languages, history and the written word, that combined with my interest in Celtic culture has led me to persue Bardic training. I label myself a Cardiac Celt because, to my current knowledge, I do not have direct ties by blood to any of the 7 Celtic Nations, but for some inexplicable reason I am passionately drawn to the culture and feel an intuitive connection with it. My paternal grandparents were first generation Canadians whose parents were grandchildren of families who resided in the British Isles. I do not know much more than that, but I am excited to explore my Geneology and eventually intend to visit the British Isles and Ireland to explore the Sacred Sites.

I welcome any friendly email and look forward to meeting equally friendly people.

Cheers to Celtic hospitality! beer_mug.gif

Hi, Valerie!

I haven't been around here for very long myself, but I'm really impressed with the give and take of knowledge and friendliness. I know you'll like it.

What do you mean by Bardic Training? I would love to hear more about that.
There is probably a forum on the site somewhere that would be enriched by a thread about it. (Minstrelsy?)

Anyway -- good to meet you!
