I hear the aforementioned song being played over and over and over again on the local country station to the point I'm about to say enough is enough. But when I think about it this song describes what all Christians are suppose to do but for the most part don't?

chorus: "Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this all on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel"

I know my ego is only satisfied when I feel I'm in complete control (of everything). How does one live the Christ Centered Life if you constantly fight God for control of your life? Do we all need to be taken to the point in life where everything is spinning out of control before we turn to God and say:

"I'm sorry for the way
I've been living my life
I know I've got to change
So from now on tonight

Jesus take the wheel"?

What do you think? unsure.gif

Oh, yeah that is so true MacE!

I hear the song all the time too and I'm glad, especially since it is sung by such a popular young artist.

Why does it seem we can only let go when there is no other choice? rolleyes.gif

How many times does God put us in that position so we will let it go? cool.gif

And even then we don't learn. Just like the Isrealites.

Nice song. I'm not sure in a hundred years it will be up there with Amazing Grace, bu there is no question that it rings true. I truly find that every time I take control of my life, it goes out of control! I have had people tell me that "Jesus is just a crutch people use." Couldn't agree more! He alone can hold me up! He never lets me down. My question in return to that comment is what is that particular individual using to hold himself up?

Give me Jesus any day! And by the way, Lord, here's my wheel smile.gif !

To me, this song also rings true. I find that even in my darkest days, I know that there is "something" protecting me, and many angels watching over me!!!
I could hear this song over and over, and not get tired of it. It does remeind us that we have to look outside ourselves for help sometimes. Wheter it is other humans, or our "Higher Power" whatever we choose to call it!!!

Have a good day all!!! Marti

]AN EXCERPT FROM A POEM THAT I WROTE ON 10/11/07

WE CAN'T CHANGE WHAT WE HAVE DONE....
BUT ONLY TAKE A LESSON FROM EACH EXPERIENCE
AND MAKE THE MOST OF EACH MINUTE THAT WE HAVE LEFT
AND TELL OURELVES THAT IT IS OK TO LIVE, LAUGH AND CRY.....
PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE ALL WORK TOGETHER
TO GIVE US WHAT WE CAN AND SHOULD EXPERIENCE
AND WE NEED TO CHERISH ALL OF THE TIME
THAT WE SPEND WITH OURSELVES AND OTHERS MAKING THE MOST OF THE SPECIAL MEMORIES THAT ARE OURS..
AND THE ONES THAT WE HAVE YET TO CREATE WITH THE PEOPLE THAT WE HAVEN'T MET!!!!![/SIZE]

It is true that during crisis, Christians look to God. But that should be all the time if we agree that He is the source of all comfort, mercy, grace and peace.

I guess that I am the only one here that doesn't particularly care for the song. It has a "quick, bail me out" theology which is not biblical.
