Great picture !! She looks very happy, and healthy, and I'm glad to see her. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the baby to stay right there until your co-worker returns from vaca.
Keltic - your wife deserves a Medal for going through Delivery without drugs! I've been through both, and will unabashedly, whole-heartedly recommend Drugs whenever possible!! (It's easier on the hubby, too )
Hugs to you both, OR! Dreamer1

... trying to download music play #3 and wondering why every radio station needs it's own player version.
... wondering (with all respect and in humbless) why people like to give a toast at the end of their post or are they confusing things?
Slainte Mhath isn't a toast. It's a wishing of good health, that just happens to make a great toast as well.

"I am a Canadian by birth, but I am a Highlander by blood and feel under an obligation to do all I can for the sake of the Highlanders and their literature.... I have never yet spoken a word of English to any of my children. They can speak as much English as they like to others, but when they talk to me they have to talk in Gaelic."
-Alexander Maclean Sinclair of Goshen (protector of Gaelic Culture)
Slainte Mhath is also the name of a Celtic band in Canada, is it not, OR?
Maddie, some of us are trying to learn Celtic languages and we just end some of our posts with blessings of some kind. It is not to be rude. Since this is a Celtic site, it is just a nice way to practice what we are trying to learn. Hope that helps.
I hope I didn't come across as being rude. I dared to speak up as I have a concern about the Gaidhlig language with its dimuishing core of native speakers. So I feel it is important to help learners and use correct forms. It is interesting whilst a French or Spanish speaker would have no remorse correcting you, neither English nor Gàidhlig speaker are comfortable in correcting zou and thus you continue on and on with the same old mistakes!!!
Alas, I am a beginner myself but I take my quest very seriously. I've been to the Gailghlig College on the Isle of Skye and talked ot one of their regular teachers there.
Slainte is used for a toast. Gaidhlig is a very precise language.
All the Gaihligh speakers on this site can come to aid, but easiest is to use:
Slàn le which sounds close to Slàinte anyway
Slàn leat for a friend Slàn leibh for a couple of friends or formal Tìoraidh is the Good Bye Cheers and pronounced cheery
I bought new shoes yesterday. I had to go to a JC Penney about 30 miles away from my house. I'm a hard size (13EEEE) to find. I went to the one by my house and they didn't have any New Balance cross trainers in my size . They called a couple of other store locations and that was the only one that had my size.
I tried Kohl's and Shoe Carnival, but they didn't have any either. I was suprised because Kohl's usually has some in my size. I was almost tempted to go to Casual Male.

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
Hi Maddie! No! You didn't come across rude to me! I was just trying to be helpful in letting you know why some of us were doing what we were doing. But most of us are in the beginning stages and will make mistakes and continue to do so until we get this language branded in our brains! Gaidhlig is not the easiest language to learn for some of us. I, too, have a real passion for the Gaidhlig because of the diminishing Native speakers. I recently talked with a Scot who told me that it is that way in Scotland because most Scots could care less about it and didn't find it necessary in today's world. Of course, I told him that not everybody would agree with him.
Well it is very late here and I should be going to bed, but wanted to catch up on posts. Sorry about your shoes, Mike!
Gadhlig is a very difficult language to me. I've been studying it for 4 years. It's easier when you go over there like to the Isle of Mann and converse with others who speak it every day. Most of the folks around Edinburgh or Glasgow look at you like you are a freak when you tell them you are learning the language.
Rose is correct. But I enjoy learning the language anyway!
I didn't know you were learning the Gaelic, Lady A! How come you never visit the Celtic Languages forum? Would Love to hear from you over there! And by the way, glad to see you back here! Been missin' ya!

'S i Alba tìr mo chridhe. 'S i Gàidhlig cànan m' anama. Scotland is the land of my heart. Gaelic is the language of my soul.
I've not had much time to really play on the computer. I've got flower beds to re-do and house pitching to be done. I'll also be moving sometime this year so I'm doing a deep cleaning of the house and taking lots of stuff to Goodwill.
I love the Gaelic language. It's so beautiful almost elfish as in "Lord of the Rings" movie. Very beautiful! I have a dear friend who is Irish and he's not really into the Scot's stuff but I can throw a few Irish terms his way and he's right on top of telling me what it means. Very smart fella.
I'll be going over to Scotland in March of next year and visit family and friends but I'll go and spend alot of time in Huntley with dear friends. It's alot easier to travel freely when you are combining work with pleasure so that keeps you moving.
Wow! Sounds nice! First Aaediwen and A Shrule in Ireland, then Susieq in Wales, now you in Scotland! I doubt if my skin will ever lose this green tint!
Lose the green tint? Maybe you should give up the cheap Scotch!
Really should only drink the good quality stuff bubba! Got a client who brought me a bottle of 25 year old from the Cruise she was just on. Now you know I'm not going to hurt her feelings and decline her generous offer.
