I can't wait to live there. I'll be able to breathe and enjoy outside activities most of the year.
I'm jealous! I'd love to move to the NC mountains. Somewhere near Asheville would be ideal, me thinks. If I could only convince my ex wife to move there (because of my daughter). hmmm.
ok...back to reality. It's still bloddy hot here. 90 degrees at 10am. Should hopefully start cooling off soon.
** Hot, Hot, Hot ** (at least for us!) We're due to hit 85 degrees today, with 80% humidity. Yesterday hit 90 degrees/humidity, so today's an improvement I guess. PHEW!! Fans are goin' strong!

After two weeks or so of rainy, cloudy and cold weather summer came back for a (last?) intermezzo...Though it's quite cold at night and in the early morning hours it's getting sunny and warm during the day. Beautiful!

Still too darn hot. Should finally be cooling off within the next few weeks. The rainy season should end within two weeks.
Keeping an eye on Frances, too.
It's supposed to hit the eastern shores of Florida, but it's twice the size of Charley, and already Cat 4, which may increase to Cat 5. That means here in Tampa Bay, we will likely see Tropical Storm force winds.
Keep getting hit by wave after wave of what is left of hurricane Frances. No wind but there's still a lot of rain involved. Fortunately, it's not a continues rain. The roads get a chance to drain off a bit before the next wave comes through.
Here in Waynesville N.C. we got lots of rain (20") For the past three days I have been at my grandmother's house pumping water out of the basement it was waist deep, and that was just from ground saturation it is still flowing in but at a slower rate. We did get a picture of some Damp Dry (desicant granules) floating in the basement. I have never seen the river so far up it is still out of it's banks and there is a lot of fall here in the mountains so it flows fast. I have a creek in my front yard and had probably a few thousand pounds of river rocks deposited in my little floodplain area.
but yesterday evening and today were nice.

Well, it's finally NICE outside. We have the windows open for the first time since about May. It's dry and about 70 degrees, with a nice breeze. Thank God!!!
