Amazingly, I've listened to very little NPR this week. Normally I'm a NPR junkie, but I find congressional hearings boring. It's all coverage of the "Scalito" confirmation hearings.

May the luck of the Irish enfold you.

I'm listening to one of the anthems for my White Sox (no, not that Journey song yucky.gif ). It's called "Let's Go, Go-Go White Sox", originally recorded back in 1959 for the '59 Go-Go White Sox. It has been resurrected recently because of the old school way the Sox played this year. They won the Series with pitching, defense, smart baserunning and good situational hitting, with just enough power to get them over the top.

Lyrics:

QUOTE
Let's go, Go-Go White Sox.
We're with you all the way!
You're always in there fighting, and you do your best.
We're glad to have you out here in the Middle West!

We're gonna root, root, root, root White Sox,
And cheer you on to victory!
When we're in the stands, we'll make those rafters ring.
All through the season, you will hear us sing!

Let's go, Go-Go White Sox!
Chicago is proud of you!

White Sox!
White Sox!
Go, go White Sox!

Root, root, root for the White Sox,
We'll cheer you on to victory!
When we're in the stands, we'll make those rafters ring.
All through the season, you will hear us sing!

Let's go, Go-Go White Sox.
Chicago is proud of you!
Play ball!

White Sox!
White Sox!
Go, go White Sox!

Let's go, Go-Go White Sox!
Chicago is proud of you!

"Love At The Five And Dime" by Rise from their Posing As Human album.

BTW, Posing As Human is one of the few entire albums I've copied to my iTunes biggrin.gif . I had to manually enter the album info on my iTunes and submit it to CDDB. That's how obscure it is.

WCPE, a classical station over the Internet. They just played one of my favorite modern pieces, "Rhapsody In Blue".

"Sweet Home Chicago" from The Blues Brothers. They play this at every White Sox game after a win, just like they play "New York, New York" after a Yankees win. I'd imagine that they play "Detroit Rock City" after a Tigers win (of which they have done a lot of this year, dang it frusty.gif ).

DRAGON BLESSING

May dragons bring you wealth
and guard your treasures
May they banish darkness and enlighten you
May female dragons grant you inner power
May the Dragon Queen

The soundtrack to the movie Songcatcher (bluegrass)

--------------------
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
