Yes Elspeth,
Finally ....
*gingerly un packs her Terrible Towel *

Any weather wisdom from you? I hope this winter is a wee bit milder than last..
it was like a seige..
I kept thinking about Gandalf saying..
"Now we must face the long dark of Febuary"

At least if it is, we can co-miserate..
I don't mind the snow at all, but day after day of BITTER cold.. got old fast..

Paula

All I can say is when I took my son to school it was near 60, now snowflakes are swirling. wink.gif

Heavy rains here with dropping temps...
I guess I will get the snow tomorro..

Ugh I need to take my car in at 8..
Traffic should be a delight,,
for a place where it snows every year,,
Pittsburghers sure can't drive in it !

Elspeth the weather here is wet and cold...perfect Scottish weather! You put on the water and I'll stop by Atlanta Bread and get us some Scones and we will take time for Tea!

Now wouldn't that be nice to do?

Works for me.

Everyone can come and bring their favorite tea. I've got plenty of cups.
I even have a beautiful china teapot along with a Pfaltzgraph one and several adorable little ones.

BTW - my china teapot was a gift when I was in high school. It is very valuable to me, but I was wondering if it was valuable commercially as well. It was made in England and it has Price/ Kensington printed inside a dual spray of laurel leaves. Anyone know anything about this china?

Annabelle, where are you?? I certainly didn't expect to see a reference to the beloved ABC (Atlanta Bread Company) on here!! I am a newbie, tho, perhaps ya'll talk about it all the time...
I live west of Atlanta, and have an ABC within 10 minutes of home... ah, that sourdough bread and bowl of steaming potato soup!

The tea that inspires me is spelled C-O-F-F-E-E, which I may bring a thermos of to the Bears game Sunday if I can get a ticket. I'm not one of those dopes who goes out there without a shirt on when it's freezing out. I'm the guy with so much on I almost look like the kid brother in the movie "A Christmas Story".

Hello everyone,
I like this little chat here. Tea is my favorite drink. I think I drank coffee once, and that was after a night out. wink.gif

I really can't choose one flavor but, I do like the berry flavors. They have to be fragrant but subtle. I don't like a tea that is too strong. I drink it all the time so I don'' like the same thing all the time. I even got my boys liking tea. they hardly ever drink pop now, I guess the flavor is what they wanted.
I believe someone mentioned twinnings (is that spelled right?) anyway, I have that bran mostly. But, I 'm not partial to any one kind.

Here's a question for you all.
When you have your tea, is there a special mug or tea cup you use?
I collect tea cups, I have a bunch of them. Not many matching. I have some from great gran down to some my sister bought me.

take care

Personally I love anything with mint. Peppermint, spearmint, ect. It's very refreshing and wakes me up. I've also put a bag in my bath when I'm having a bad day. I know it sounds weird, but it really works!!

I drink iced tea most of the time, but I have two glasses that were my grandmother's. I always used them when I visited the farm. I love to use them now for tea. Makes me remember so very much each time I use them.

Elspeth..
Try a search on ebay for your china... its amazing what shows up on that site!
Now that they have a Sotherby's section.. very fine things are listed also..

I think its a perfect way to figure worth of an object.. because it is a direct pulse on what that item is selling for in the market, at the present time..

Treasures are treasures to us , regaurdless of worth.. but it is still fun to see ...and maybe even find more peices of that pattern...
Good luck with your search..

In Service to the Dream,
Paula

I drink both tea and coffe in BIG mugs .. I find that Hartstone really keeps things nice and hot !

I have one of those one person tea pot/cup combo things. It's sooo great. Since Allan doesn't drink tea its perfect. The pot holds about 2 servings so I get my fill for the moment without making too much.
