Due to her failing health and suffering, my cat familiar of eight years - Simone DarkFyre - was euthanized. It was not an easy choice, but it was the right one. A suffering death is not what our family wanted for her. She deserves better than that for all the years she's watched over us.

I know I barely know any of you, but if you could - no matter what belief you hold - keep my family in your thoughts.

She was our own, and one of the dearest of our loved ones.

She will be missed.

She was 18.

I'm so sorry Shadow, it's very painful to lose a beloved pet. You and your family are in my prayers.

I'm sure she will find her way and that might lead her back to you. I know the pain you feel. My thoughts are with you.

Shadow, my heart hurts for you. I know you've felt you've lost a member of your family. Bless you for putting Simone's comfort first, and being brave enough to make a difficult decision. What a demonstration of love! Keep sharing wonderful memories of Simone by talking about her often. I pray the pain will ease as time goes on. Thank you for honoring us, your CelticRadio family, with sharing your news.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of a beloved family member. I too have had to put down several animals. It's never easy.
I hope and pray for you and your family that the hurt will soon pass and that you will only look back at the happy moments you had with your beloved Simone.

I think it’s safe to say that we all feel your pain. In fact I’m welling up right now, because of putting down our dear dog Hudson, after 15 years. Hang in there, for only the good thoughts remain.

My deepest sympathy Shadow. I know your pain well. In the 30 years I've been mushing I have had 250-300 dogs. As each old friend reaches the end of the trail I have had to go through this and it NEVER gets any easier. All we can do is remember the good times and do not dwell on the passing. Hang in there my friend.

I'm very sorry for your loss, SDF. Unfortunately we survive most of our four-legged, winged etc. friends and family members. As it was said by everyone before, we can feel your pain.
You have done the right thing, the last thing you could do for love of Simone ... to let her put down to end her suffering. I have been there quite a number of times myself and I stayed with them until their very last breath, holding their head and accompanying their passing. It's always heartbreaking.
But Simone knew you did it for love and that you were with her at mind and heart. And there she will stay and walk with you forever.

I wished I could do anything to soften your pain; my thoughts are with you.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of a beloved cat. We too put our cat down at the very same age. Comfort comes in knowing how long we had her with us and how immortal memories are.
Go in peace =^^=

I'm sorry to hear of your loss, SDF. Poor moggie, but what a grand old age she reached! And what a full life she must have enjoyed with you.

It's a sad time, but when you feel a little better, I hope you tell us all about her -- what she looked like, how she talked and what she liked best of all, next to you yourself. My thoughts go with you and your family.

I, too , know of the deep pain that comes from the loss of a loved one. You have my thoughts and prayers for you and your family during this troubling time.

Thanks to all who gave their thoughts, condolences, and wellwishes to myself and my family. It is most appreciated. Come Saturday, she'll be buried in the orchard where the other familiars of the family rest now. I made that promise to her, and I intend to keep it.

Thank you again, and Good Dreaming...

shadow,

all animals are family members here, when we had to put penny down, our vet came to the houe and she slept in my arms, my husband buried her out back and we placed a beautiful purple liliac tree over her grave. we still talk about her, penny was such a person in her own right, not a day goes by that something reminds me of her, and i smile in grateful rememberance of her love and life that she chose us!!

I am so sorry to hear of your loss ShadowDarkFyre. It is always hard to lose a pet they are part of the family.. Eighteen years is a long time.. I always say I am not going to get another one because I don't want to be hurt again but I end up getting one. The wonderful memories that each pet gives us is too great to pass up. I am thinking of you and your family..
