Well, I was listening to my 'Among The Heather' cd and was wondering if there is any new news from the CZ camp? Think I'll shoot over to his site just to see what is going on... Still need to order the Christmas cd...should have had one of my kids give it to me as a 'gift'
Hi, Amy! So nice to hear from you! Hope you had a good Christmas. It's not too late to get a Christmas CD...it's still cold out. Although not in AZ, I guess.
Charlie is coming to Richmond next Saturday to sing at a Burn's Night supper there...I can't wait! Tad and Mark will be with him, and it should be a great show! It will be so nice to see them all again. My sisters and I are going to try to sell 1000 of his CDs that night.
Hi again Hannah...I hope Christmas was wonderful for you and that 2006 has gotten off to a great start!
Please check back in with me and let me know how the concert goes! I think if I can manage it, I'd really like to see CZ in a smaller setting...but I guess I will be happy for anything!
I just want to say I heard you sing the Star Spangled Banner and I have never in my entire life heard anyone that can sing it as well as you do. You have a great talent thank you for sharing that..
Happy New Year! I hope 2007 is a great year for all of you--- filled with love, family and friends. I look forward to singing for you from time to time, and I hope our paths cross soon.
Well, for me the big news is that I will be recording---in concert ---a live DVD and CD, and you are invited to this free show with my awesome 6-piece band of great musical friends Feb. 13, 2007 at the Milburn Stone Memorial Theater at Cecil Community College in North East, Maryland. This is a GORGEOUS state-of- the-art 500-seat theater, with the evening show at 7:30 p.m.There is also a 2 p.m. taping for a smaller audience; if you want to be a part of that, please send me an email and let me know.
I was approached by a fine Nashville-based media company, and while contracts are still be mailed around at this writing all is a “go.” We musicians are working on the songs (some traditional, some new, some written by me), and now all we need is YOU there to make the evening complete! The DVD and matching CD will be available in late March.
The best way to reserve tickets is still being worked out, but if you can come, please email me, let me know how many in your party can definitely come, and tickets will be reserved for you at the box office. You can also contact the box office directly, but please do not do that until the beginning of February to ensure we have everything in place for that. I will be working together with the theater help ensure that goes smoothly, and that those who want to go can be there after giving us a holler!

Happy Spring Everybody! While it does not really *seem* like Spring here in the Mid-Atlantic, I am assured by reliable sources it is indeed Spring. I had to remind myself of that while I scraped ice off my car a couple of days ago after that Nor’easter…
I HAVE A BRAND NEW DVD/CD PROJECT!
“Charlie Zahm: An Evening of Classic Melodies”
I am so excited to have worked with Franklin Springs Family Media of Nashville to produce this live concert performance with my band (Tad Marks - fiddle/Steve Hobson – lead guitar/Joe Spinelli – upright bass/Cheryl Prashker – percussion/and Suzanne McNeil-Zahm lending more vocals). I could not be happier with the end result: Franklin Springs put together a beautifully crafted visual production, capturing the music perfectly. Even though the entire production was threatened by a terrible snow and ice storm that very day (February 13, 2007) a hardy audience made it through the elements to join my band, the Franklin Springs crew, and the wonderful folks from the Milburn Stone Theater in North East, Maryland, to put a show together I will be so proud of for a long, long time. I hope you enjoy it too!
Here is the list of songs included on the DVD:
Westering Home/Maid of Fyvie Poor Wayfaring Stranger All Through the Night Follow Me up to Carlow Loch Lomond Summer Rains Out on the Mira Mairi’s Wedding/Mason’s Apron Farewell to Nova Scotia Geordie Planxty Fanny Power/O’Carolon’s Concerto Be Thou My Vision Minstrel Boy Sweet Virginia General Taylor Lighthouse on the Shore Scotland the Brave
On the CD version you have all of the above (except Loch Lomond), PLUS “Memory” (from the musical “Cats”) and “Wade in the Water.” Please see this link for a clip from the new DVD (choose WMV Small (4.7 Mb) unless you have very high speed internet):
You can see lots of photos of the concert on my website “Fan Pics” page too. Audio song clips will be added shortly to the CD page. A big thanks to John McGlinchey for updating my website so quickly to include all the new info. I really appreciate it John!!!

I don’t really look for video clips of me on the web, but this one came to my attention not too long ago which was kind of neat, posted by an attendee of the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival last year. I am singing “Remember the Alamo.” Look at that huge screen! The Alamo is just down the road from the Convention Center where this was filmed.
Dale Fetwick is a really great guy, smart as a tack, and with a sense of humor I and a few other people “get.” He was at the live DVD taping, and created this comic strip from the evening. Please note this comic strip has nothing to do with what happened that night (Dale would want you to know that, and I do too).

I just got the new album and it is terrific!! What a great collection of songs. Charlie has never sounded better and he is accompanied by his fantastic band! One of my favorite songs is a new one written by Charlie called Summer Rains! You've got to hear this one!
This goes for any of the musicians on Celtic Radio, but if you do end up buying their album please drop the musician a note from their website that you purchased the CD because of Celtic Radio.
There is no way to track this stuff and by letting artists know about Celtic Radio it will allow us to keep receiving new CDs to play!
News comes from Charlie Zahm about a new CD in the works!
"If you enjoyed "Scotland’s Heroes" and "American Scrapbook," you will love the new project in discussion with Infinity Dance Theater/Kitty Lunn/Andrew Macmillan of New York City. Andrew, with his great bass-baritone speaking voice, is putting pen to paper in organizing a wonderful tribute to Robert Burns, the poet of Scotland. Andrew and Kitty are choosing passages from favorite Burns works, as well as historical notes, and working with me to choose some of the most beautiful and important works of Burns that have been put to music, and we hope to have this project available by Jan. 25, 2008. Jan 25 is of course the Bard’s birthday, and this is the best birthday gift we can give him!"
I just received Charlie's Robert Burns tribute CD "The Immortal Memory, A Tribute to Scottish Poet Robert Burns" in the mail today and here are some comments:
As most artists age their voice will start to change, usually losing a little of their upper range and gaining in the lower register. It would appear Charlie Zahm has discovered a secret elixir or the fountain of youth because I think he is at his peak with most, if not all of the vocals on this album!
When I think Charlie Zahm I think baritone (this may be just a misconception on my part) but on this album he hits some notes (especially on the song "Green Grow The Rashes, O") that would make any tenor proud!
This Album is an another example of great voice of Charlie Zahm, with excellent orchestration, and some interesting narration by Mr. Andrew Macmillan with Robert Burns poems and information that many may be unaware of. This should be a welcome addition to both Charlie Zahm and Robert Burns fan's collections!
