Being I was just on the net about 6 months when this happened I did not have chance to do this so wish to do this now.

I just wanted to take a minute to remember a wonderful lady on the 5th anniversary of her tragic and untimely death.

You were the grace that placed itself where lives were torn apart.
You called out to our country, and you whispered to those in pain.
Now you belong to heaven, and the stars spell out your name.

And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind:
never fading with the sunset when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here, along England's greenest hills;
your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will.

Loveliness we've lost; these empty days without your smile.
This torch we'll always carry for our nation's golden child.
And even though we try, the truth brings us to tears;
all our words cannot express the joy you brought us through the years.

And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind:
never fading with the sunset when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here, along England's greenest hills;
your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will.

Goodbye England's rose, may you ever grow in our hearts.
You were the grace that placed itself where lives were torn apart.
Goodbye England's rose, from a country lost without your soul,
Who'll miss the wings of your compassion more than you'll ever know.

And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind:
never fading with the sunset when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here, along England's greenest hills;
your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will.

This song was performed beautifully at Princess Diana's Funeral by friend and musician Elton John. Proceeds from sales are donated to the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.

Very nicely down Dave. I will always remember when this happened because it was actually the first tragic event that I first heard on the internet and not on the news.

Strange how we were all drawn to this princess and the following cermonies. She really gave hope to the masses and showed through what she did that she was a truely caring person. I certainly hope that the crown passes to her song William who seems to have inherited both his mother's good looks and sense.

I know what you mean I actually heard about it on the news, but I know at work (Was working at my local airport at the time (Private corporate side)) I know time stood still luckily it was a quiet evening so we got to watch the whole story unfold as more became known of what happened.
