I wrote this in answer to When you think of Scotland and decided to post it here also Land of my birth Mist shrouded Highlands And Pines looking down On deep green Glens Jagged coasts and Rugged Isles The taste of salt Upon the wind The cry of eagles And the rushing sound Of clear cold burns Tumbling o'er the rocks Cascading down to the Deep dark Lochs The skirl of Pipes And the lilting brogue Of the Scottish Folk. |

Heartbeat Deep in the heart of the mountain tall Heard as the forest trees will fall throughout this land of hill and glen beats the heart of freedom again. Hear it echo in the straths within the capercaillies call see it in the salmons leap the heartbeat within us all. Shaking the stillness of waters deep waking them from slumber and sleep crying out in birthing pain a roar to free the land again. Deep it lies in celtic heart a thrumming thread of ancient tune that speaks of love torn apart by the pursuit of material gain. In the air of mountain breeze lillting through the forest trees a song of redemption and release awaken again the ancient ways. |
