Come to the Triennial Gathering of Clan Cunningham and business meeting of Clan Cunningham International, September 17, 18, 19, 2010 at the NH Highland Games in Lincoln, New Hampshire. The NH Highland Games is the largest gathering of Scots within the New England region and takes place over a three day period in September. Last year more than 60 Scottish Clans and other organizations along with 30 pipe bands were in attendance, including the Colum Cille Pipes & Drums of Cape Cod who wear the Cunningham Modern tartan.

Every three years Clan Cunningham gathers to celibate their common heritage, renew old acquaintances, make new ones, and set the agenda for the next three years. At the business meeting on Saturday afternoon, we will be voting on Bylaw changes and electing Officers for the next three years.

The next gathering of the Clan will take place in 2013 out in California so if you live close to the Northeast, here is your opportunity to attend a Clan Gathering close to home.

The Northeast Regional Tri-Annual Meeting Committee is already hard at work planning for this event. If you would like to volunteer to assist the Committee, please contact Steve Cunningham at [email protected]

The Board of Directors of Clan Cunningham USA have entered into a partnership with the St. Maurs-Glencairn Church and the Kilmaurs, Scotland community to restore the windows of the Glencairn Aisle. The project itself is to restore the 4 small windows that are presently covered by plywood due to vandal's damage some time ago.

While this is a Clan Cunningham USA project, everyone is invited to help us raise the necessary funds to complete the project. If interested or if you would like more information about this project please contact me.

C. Stevens Cunningham

Great question.

I joined Clan Cunningham USA 3 years ago and volunteer to host our Clan Tent at Games and Highland Festivals here in New England. I later was appointed the Regional Director for the New England/New York, a position I hold today. This year I plan to host a Clan Cunningham Tent at 6 regional festivals. This is a great way to learn about one Clan history and to meet fellow clan members.

Three months ago I was asked to join the Board of Directors as the national Membership Coordinator and if my involvement was not enough, my wife who a a degree in journalism is the Newsletter Editor.

I have also created a web-site for the New England/New York Region - http://webpages.charter.net/clancunningham...usane/home.html - which has a list of celtic, Scottish and Irish activities throughout the region along with links to other Cunningham web-sites.

I have enjoyed my involvement with Clan Cunningham USA. The only down side is unfortunately Clan Cunningham has two clan organizations here in the United States which can and has caused some confusions among our fellow clansman and women. Hopefully some day we the members of Clan Cunningham will be able to unite under one banner.

Yours,
Steve

Hi All,

It's been sometime since my last post, a lot things have happened.

In January I lost my job and as they say when God closes one door, he opens another. While it took some time search for that new door, but I did find it.

In April I started a new job at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, NY, just a 3 hr drive one way from my home in NH. So in July we moved from our home in NH to our new home in New Fairfield, CT. We are still unpacking boxes. It was over 10 years since our last move and I had forgotten how tough it was.

My new e-mail address is [email protected]

For those interested in see what Scottish/Celtic events are going on in New England and New York check out my web-site at http://webpages.charter.net/clancunningham.../Festivals.html

If you have event you would like list please e-mail the inforamtion.

Looking forward to getting active again.

Yours,

Steve

I have been working on a new web site entitled - "Clan Cuningham USA - New England Region (http://home.comcast.net/~clancunninghamusa-ne/home.html). While the site does focus on Clan Cunningham and its activities throughout the New england. I have put a couple of features that would be of interest to all. The first is a page entitles "Gathering of the Clans" (http://home.comcast.net/%7Eclancunninghamusa-ne/Gathering_of_the_Clans.html) which has links to other Clans who have web pages. The second is "New England Area Events" (http://home.comcast.net/%7Eclancunninghamusa-ne/Festivals.html) which has and will have links to Scottish events happening in New england. If you know of an event please pass it along so I can add it to the list. The third page is "New England Scottish Links" (http://home.comcast.net/~clancunninghamusa-ne/NewEnglandScottishLinks.html) here you find links other scottish sites in New Engalnd, need a bagpiper, find a store selling scottish item in New Engalnd, etc... Again if you have any suggestions for this page please send it along.

I would be interested in hearing what all of you think of this site. I am trying to make a resource for all as to what is happening and what is available to all Scotts living or visiting New Engalnd.

Hope you like.

What a great weekend was had by those who attend the NH Highland Games. The weather was great, the music outstanding, got introduced to a number of new groups like the Glengarry Bhoys, the Searsons, and Hadrian's Wall. Took in two performances of Clann an Drumma. The massed bands at the Opening Ceremonies were just out standing.

The highlight of this years came for me when I carried the Cunningham tartan onto the Parade Ground for the Roll Call of the Clans. This was the first time to my knowledge that Clan Cunningham answered present during the roll call of the clans. And if I have anything to do with it will only be the beginning.

This was the first time I had ever hosted a Clan Tent and the experience was great. I had an opportunity to meet kinsman from all around New England.

Even with 3-days I still was not able to taken all that I wanted to, oh well I guess there is next year.

Greeting from Hampstead New Hampshire home of the first in the nation Presidental Primary.

Hampstead is a small (8,000) community located in Souther NH. I can be in down town Boston in about 45 minutes, to the beach in 1/2 hour or up to one of my favorite ski slops in less than an hour.

Being the first in the nation Presidental Primary has its advantages and disadvantages. I have meet face to face, often over coffee in a small setting almost every president since G. Ford. If you love politics NH, out side of DC is your dream state. The disadvantages non-stop TV Ads that go on for the better part of 3 months.

Prior to relocating back to NH I lived in Kutztwon, PA, East Haven, CT, Rocky Hill, CT and North Kingstown, RI. I grew up in Nashua, NH so when I had an opportunity to return to NH, I jumped at.

I have enjoyed reading everyones replys. thumbs_up.gif

I put my kilt on for the first-time this past weekend. I did pick the hottest and muggiest day of the summer up here in New England to do so.

While I was warm (toasted) around the edges, I enjoyed the experience. I am looking forward to the NH Highland Games, now that I will be properly dressed to enjoy the occasion.

Hi All.

My name is Steve Cunningham I live in New Hampshire. I have been a member of the Hampstead Congregational Church for the past 10 years. Over the years I have served as the Chair of our Senior Pastoral Search Committee, Chair of the Board of Diaconate and currently serve on the Executive Committee. I have recently accepted the position of Chair of our Fund-Raising Committee, one of our first project will be putting on a Robert Burns Dinner this coming February.

My is the Chair of the Nominating Committee, we have two young adult daughters, both have chosen not to join the church. I pray that one day they will come back to the church.

I grow up in the New England Congregational Church. I enjoy the role we the members of the church play in the life of our church. Serving on the Pastoral search committee opened my eyes not into my own faith but to the greater church and the role we play in our community.

Well that about that.

Steve
