I watch very little television. Why bother, when most of it's dreck, and there's about a million other more interesting, worthwhile things to do. I say that now, but as winter closes in, and we find ourselves housebound by wild weather and road closures I'll watch a bit more, but not much more. Now that I've said that, I must confess I've a terrible weakness for "24". It's a wonderful way to pass an hour, a great ride, and so much better than the other shows out there. I also have a married woman crush on Kiefer Sutherland. A great actor, that one, not to mention a humble Canadian lad. I can't wait for January and season seven.

A few favorites for me:

1. Scrubs
2. Family Guy
3. The Office
4. Simpsons
5. 30 Rock

Also, speaking of Scottish television (were we?) I've recently started watching Monarch of the Glen on DVD. I have the first six seasons on DVD, and my wife and I love it.

And for those of you who remember me from 2005, I'm back!! Howdy to the folks I remember, Carolina Scotsman, Maisky, Irish Stepper, etc. (And if I missed your name, I have an excuse -- it's been 2 friggin' years!!)

TV rots your brain.

AMEN, AMEN And AMEN! I went 20 years without TV in my home and only have it now because my father moved in and had to have his cable.

So, now I will watch the History Channel, Mythbusters and Good Eats.

I teach Physics and Chemistry so Mythbuster and Good Eats are MY style!!!! Jamie and Adam do PHYSICS and Alton Brown does CHEMISTRY in the kitchen.

I somehow discovered BBC series that are off the air now, but I watch on DVD -

BalleyKissAngel (English Priest in Irish Town) and Monarch of the Glen (Young Laird of Glen Bogle, Clan Mac Donald), enjoyed them very much.

When I need a laugh I try to catch Reba - I can relate . . .

I agree most of the programs on TV/Cable are junk and not worth watching. With PBS programs being the exception.

However being a sport junky my favorites are
ESPN, ESPN2 ESPNU, ESPN Classics, FOX Sports

I like Scrubs, Corner Gas, Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares (language notwithstanding), NCIS and many others. I always want to be watching the Vancouver Canucks play and watch sports recap programs, too.

I confess that of the reality series the only ones I watch are Survivor & Amazing Race but that's mainly because I'm a travel twit and love to see other parts of the world. I have a great many documentaries about Ireland and enjoy the old movies, so I can almost always find something to look at if I try hard enough!

Hello everyone. I just wanted to recommend "The Tudors" to you, especially if you're a history geek, as am I. It runs on the CBC on Tuesday nights. Tonight, Henry VIII meets Anne Boleyn. Oooooh, we all know where this is heading, don't we!

Good Lord, I must be losing what's left of my marbles. What I SHOULD have said was tomorrow night Henry VIII meets poor Anne Boleyn.

I don't watch a whole lot of tv either, although it is on most of the time, its usually on low, so it's just kind of there. When I watch TV, I tend to watch either the History Channel, or Sci-Fi and Food network. I love 24 and would love to watch it regularly, but with a hubby who won't hand over the remote after he gets home, and channel surfs constantly, it's hard to get into anything.

I used to watch Nip/Tuck, but it got WAY too weird unsure.gif and I just couldn't take it, lol.

The movie that the winner of "Who Wants To Be a Superhero" made? Dreck. It was awful. Sometimes Sci-Fi makes good movies, but most of the time, they're just baaaaaaaaad, and I have way less tolerance for B movies than I used to.

The shows I like are,

Stargate Atlantis,
NCIS (Love love love Mark Harmon)
CSI Miami, NY and the Original (thank goodness for Reruns, lol)

Just about anything on History or Food, the Barbarians (I think that's right) was awesome, at least what I got to see of it.

These days, I don't watch much in the daytime, usually too busy playing with our new granddaughter, Samantha.

Been watching Downton Abby, Doctor Who, and Big Bang Theory. My wife watched a couple of BBT shows and went out and bought all the DVD's. At least it got her away from NCIS for a while.

QUOTE (j Padraig moore @ 20-Feb-2007, 07:38 AM)
Favorites - typically any crime drama
1. Law & Order
2. L&O CI
3. L&O SVU
4. Bones
5. Numbers

We also watch 24, mostly for my wife (I don't really like, although there is a quote from it on my sig line).

Least favorites, hard to say. If I don't like 'em, I don't watch 'em!

Interesting to came back to this thread six years later. The only show I am continuing to rot my brain with on my list is LO: SVU.
Admittedly I still watch way too much TV. Now it is mostly Blue Bloods, the Middle, Modern Family, reruns of Big Bang Theory. Although I do not have, I have seen and like Rizzoli & Isles. We bought Seasons 1 & 2 on DVD.
