We believe my house to be haunted. It was built in 1914 by a local company who built several houses for their employees to live in. In the 1960's they sold all of those houses. In 2001 I bought it from the person who bought it from them. So, while I am only the third owner, who knows how many people have lived and possibly died in this house.

Shortly after we moved in, my son (who was 7 years old at the time) kept claiming that he saw a woman who looked like Mona Lisa. (So, now we call our ghost Mona.) One day my older daughter was walking down the hall carrying her son who was about 1 year old. As she passed one of the bedrooms, her son looked in and was waving and saying "Hi." My daughter looked, but there was no one in the room. She stood there a minute and he kept smiling, waving and saying hi.

My husband has his art room on the third floor in the attic. It is directly above my bedroom. One time, in the middle of the night his stereo turned on full blast. Everyone was sleeping and there is no timer on the stereo.

Another time, my husband had his shirt draped over the rail at the top of the attic stairs. I walked up there and there was a dead rose laying on the shirt. He had just put the shirt there a few minutes before and no one else was in the house.

Another time, my daughter woke up in the middle of the night and went into the bathroom. She said the bathtub drain stopper was in and the faucet was running full blast. The tub was about half full.

We have a hook and eye lock on our pantry door. One time my daughter was sitting in the living room, which is off the kitchen. She and her baby were the only ones home. She was sitting on the couch, which is right next to the kitchen door, which is right next to the pantry door. She said that she heard the hook unlock and the pantry door swung open.

We've had lights go on and off, seen shadows, lights floating across the ceiling and upper wall, footsteps and a strange dragging noise in the attic when no one is up there.

What do you all think? Does it sound like my house is haunted? I'd love to have T.A.P.S. come check it out!

I would say that you have something that should be looked in too. I have a son who is going though this right now and he has asked for help from a group out of Indiana. T.A.P.S. would be nice but I would still try to see if there is anyone in your area that does this. As I have told my daughter in-law that she should not be afraid and to tell them to go towards the light, or to go away they can't be there anymore that this is your home now. I wish you luck and keep us posted as to what you find out.

TAPS actually is in my area. I met Jason and Grant once at a writing seminar and they said to contact them if I wanted them to come out.

I'm not scared, though. The ghost (or whatever it is) doesn't seem to be bothering or hurting anyone. I have a feeling is is just someone who lived her once and isn't ready to leave. When I go into the attic, I get an overwhelming feeling of a presence. That one is a little more of a scary feeling than the rest of the house.

Has the one in your son's house tried to hurt anyone?

You have actually that would of been neat ,I am a big fan of Ghost Hunters.

My sons appartment it might be more then one as my daughter in-law has seen a little boy setting on her bed and heard a voice call out mama. She has a son he's 11 years old he wasn't here at the time she heard the voice. She's not scared of that one. The one that bothers her the most is a black shadow (I've even seen that). She was in taking a shower and they have a clear shower curtain, she said she seen the bathroom door open and heard it shut. Thinking it was my son she started to talk to him and when he didn't answer she looked out and no one was there. She has told me that sometimes it feels like someone is standing in the shower with her. She won't take a shower or go in the bathroom by herself anymore. We were having my sons brithday party over there this pass summer,I was in the house by myself and there is a room off the kitchen (no doors or windows) and I could hear someone moving around in there. I told them about this group from Fort Wayne Indiana and he contracted them they are coming up to talk to them frist get all the information then will come back with all their toys. I did find out that a young man in his 20"s did kill himself in that appartment some years ago. As far as being to scared to live there, her son he thinks this is very cool and they don't bother me when I go over there. I grew up next door to a cemetery we would play hide-n-seek over there at night. The only time I didn't like living there was when the movie "The Night Of The Living Dead" came out that kinda scared me ,but it didn't last long.

Keep posting as to whats going on at your house and I will do the same for my son's appartment.

Ooo! That is creepy! I don't blame your daughter-in-law for not wanting to go into the bathroom alone!

I will keep you informed and would love to hear more about your son's house also.

Yeah, Jason and Grant were really, really nice. Down to earth. Just like on the show. Felt like I had known them all my life.

I have news on my son's place. The group from Fort Wayne was up for 8 hours Friday night. He just called and told me what was found. They have on tape a little kid's voice giggleing and saying something like "fun" then something that they could not make out. Back in the room where I had heard movement they got shadows and a voice asking"what do you want". That one you clearly make out what was said. There is 3 appartments all together and they did all of them. There were cold spots and shadows. They found out that the person who killed themself there was 23 years old and a male, this happened 24 years ago. They know how but I won't go into that. As far as the kid they have no record on who he or she was. Their thinking on that was,it could of happened many years ago and being right beside the St. Joe river that this child could of drowned as that river gets quite high when it rains alot or in the spring as the snow melts. He is bring the dvd and tapes over this week-end for me to watch.I can't wait. They are also looking for another place to live as my daughter in-law really doesn't want to live there anymore.

Wow! That is really, really creepy! I hope that they are able to get out of there fast!

Enjoy the DVDs and tapes. Those will be fun (but scarey) to watch!

Hugs!

I spent a lot of years as a young adult in Fort Wayne and have friends there now. It is a city with a sometimes very violent past.
