Since I'm heading to Ireland in April, someone was very nice to me at Xmas and gave me this terrific guide book of Ireland. Globetrotter Travel Pack - Ireland by Robin Gauldie published by New Holland Publishers London.

It is packed with all sorts of sites I never heard about and some very beautiful pictures. It breaks Ireland up into regions and gives a list and description of places to see. It also tells when the best times of the year to go, to avoid the crowds. It also comes with the best road map I have seen of Ireland. Very easy to read.

If your planning to travel, this Globetrotter series is worth looking into for the country you will be visiting. Worth the price of $14.95.

You're planning on being there in April too, eh?

Globetrotter Travel sounds familiar too in refrence to this.... smile.gif

Let me venture on a wild guess and say that Emerald Rose probably has something to do with you're presence there too smile.gif

Does for me. How many others are among the 100 getting signed up for that trip? Just curious wink.gif

Definately looking forward to it!

Nope. Going to be staying in Shrule, Mayo and meet some relatives and see if I can dig up some more information about my relatives and visit the old farm. I'll also be taking day trips in whatever direction looks good that day and tour around Ireland. No real set agenda except dig up the information about the relatives and visit the other relatives in Ballyshannon, Donegal.

Had no idea Emerald Rose was playing there.

You should also check out Rick Steve's book on Ireland. He has a travel show on PBS and has a series of travel books on Europe, "Europe Through The Backdoor." My wife and I traveled to the West Coast of Ireland this year and we found his book to be extremely helpful!

We also love "Globetrekker" on PBS...it is a great show too.
