I just found the best freakin' beer EVER. I don't care for Guinness -- too strong. but my "liquor lady" suggested I try this Guinness brand called Smithwick. It's AWESOME. Taste great, less filling . Anyway, it's not as strong, but it's dark and I really like it. I normally do the wine thing, but this stuff is awesome. Anyone ever hear of it?
My dinner is in the oven. I'm just waiting until closer to 5 to make the Colcannon and Boxty and finish up the Slieve. I hadda cook a pork shoulder for my Puerto Rican hubby -- he won't touch corned beef. He's lucky I like him a little
I tried this new dish for dessert -- Lemon Syllabub. It sounded great and I wanted to see what the family thought of it. If it's a hit I'm gonna make it a tradition. I sure feel for my sons' future wives -- they're gonna have a helluva time on this day -- WOOHOO! That's almost as good as the famous "Mother's curse".
Gotta go, more beer to be drunk

I hope everyone had a great St. Patrick's Day. All my family was here except the youngest daughter and my grandbaby Abbie. I believe everyone enjoyed dinner with brown sugar-glazed Corned Beef, oven roasted cabbage and apples, cheddar cheese whipped potatoes, irish soda bread and Baileys Irish cream pie. These were all new recipes I used except the Irish soda bread. The Baileys pie was a big hit with the adults with Irish Cream Coffee. I'm definetly feeling very Irishy tonite!!!!
May the hinges of our friendship never grow rusty...
Last night, I spent my St. Paddy's Day watching and taping two programs on my PBS station: "Great Performances", which was a broadcast of Loreena McKennitt's "Nights From The Alhambra", and "Visions Of Ireland". It's one of those shows that's done with a camera mounted on a helicopter. Very nice to watch.
May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
