I'm all about tents. And the farther into the wilderness, the better. Ange likes having toilets and showers nearby, but to me, if you can park your truck by your tent, you're not really roughing it.

You have a point there about it not really being rough..

An Tacahartas Campaich Agam My Camping Advenure
Hallo a h-uile duine! Hello everyone!
Ciamar a tha sibh an-diugh? How are you all today?
Tha mi'n dochas gu bheil sibh gu math! I hope that you are all well!
Chaidh campachadh dèirieadh seachdanach sa chaidh. We went camping this weekend.
Seo atithris air. Here is a report on it.
Dh'fhàg sinn tràth feasgar Dihaoine agus thill sinn dhachaidh mu mheadhon latha an-diugh. We left early Friday evening and returned home around noon today.
Chaidh mi leis a' bhean agam, an nighean againn, am banachàraid a' bhean agam, anduine aice, agus an nighean aca. I went with my wife, our daughter, my wife's girlfriend, her husband, and their daughter.
Bha sianar an iomalin. There were six people altogether.
B'e a' chiad turas agam. It was my first time.
Bha spòrs gu leòr againn! We had lots of fun!
Dh'fhuirich sinn ann an teantaichean. We stayed in tents.
Bha gu leòr ann ri ithe is ri òl. There was plenty to eat and drink.
Bha snàmh agus còmhradh ann cuideachd! There was swimming and conversation too!
Leugh mi 's choisich mi 's dh'èisd mi gu ceòl le "Distant Oaks." I read and walked and listened to music by Distant Oaks.
Bha sin barrail! That was excellent!
Tapadh leat a Ghobnait! Thanks Deborah!
Chuir sinn teine thuige aig an oidhche agus shuidh sinn timcheall air. We built a fire at night and sat around it.
Rinn sinn S'mores cuideachd! IUMMI! We made S'mores too! YUMMY!
Cha robh an cadal math, ma tha. The sleeping wasn't good, though.
Bha nàbaidhean faramach againn oidhche Dihaoine agus bha 'n t-uisge ann an raoir! We had loud neighbors Friday night and it rained last night!
Tha sin math, ma tha! That's okay, though!
'S toigh leam a' campachadh! I like camping!
Tha mi 'g iarraidh dhol a rithist! I want to go again!
Uill, feumaidh mi falbh a-nis. Well, I must go now.
Cuir ceart na mearachdan agam, mas e ur toil e (mur bi e a' cur dragh ort). Correct my mistakes, please (if it isn't a bother).
Tapadh leibh roimh làimh. Thanks in advance.

I'm glad you had fun ( see, I'm finally back online!) , especially when I think back on my camping experiences . I remember the last one was a 24 day canoe trip to James Bay, which sounds cool but in fact everything that could go wrong went wrong. There was no water in our river due to low water levels (and even though it rained every other day and even snowed one morning the water level didn't go up) which meant we had to get out and drag our canoes every day over rocks ( and wet feet = mega trench-foot). The bugs were so bad that one day I was so severely bitten by black-flies that my face swelled up to the size of a watermelon ( imagine your face gaining 300lbs over night, and that?s sort of what I looked like). Then we ran out of bleach and lost the lubricant for the pump so we got beaver-fever, and while on James Bay and up the Moose river we were paddling against the wind and current so that we only ended up sleeping for less than 1.5 hours in the last 48 of the trip so that we could make it to the train in Mooseney on time.
Hey Faolin! So good to hear from you again! And thnks for the warm welcomes, Annabelle (thanks for the A ), BluegrassLady and 3Ravens! Nice to know I was missed!
I really enjoyed my trip! As I said though Friday night we had the rednecks from h*ll as neighbors! They must have drunk all night. Around 1:00 in the morning, one of their dogs, Cheyenne (I'll never forget that name!), got loose and they started yelling for it at the top of their lungs. This went on for a good half houror more. Then around 2:00, just as we were starting to doze back off again, they decided to have a big fight, yelling at each other, cursing like sailors and throwing things around. Around 3:00, their other dog Dixie got loose and they started yelling for it! Around 4:00 they had another fight! I think perhaps they passed out after that one! Luckily they packed up and moved on Saturday morning.
Then Saturday night I woke up around 1:00 am. Nature was calling. Just as I got back it was like the sky opened up and poured like cats and dogs for 2 hours. Once I got used to the sound I was finally able ot doze back off but it sure was difficult!

Sorry to hear about the hicks and the rain, but you have to admit that the rednecks are good for many a laugh (they sound like the trailer park boys ).
I personally have to say though that I find nothing as relaxing as the sound of rain on canvass or tin. Call me a sucker for those rain sticks!
Welcome to the wonderful world of camping Allen!!! It is a wonderful adventure once you get used to sleeping in a different environment. The noisey neighbors have alot to do with how well you enjoy it.
Welcome back!!!
