Thanks Rindy! It is still taking me awhile to load my photos on the shutterfly album. I have had so much else going on that I will try to sit down soon and post the pics. If you look at my personal profile photo, you will see both the guys and me in my 18thc outfit.....which hubby likes to affectionaly call it my "Mother Hubbard" dress! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I am so proud of the pic of the guys in the sig photo. They were so accomodating and kind to me, as they are with all their fans. Such great sports as I am sure they get bugged A LOT!

I will keep you all posted on the new CD as I find out, unless the band members see this and post about it themselves! wink.gif I hope you get to see them live some time, Rindy. Their CDs are great, of course, but do not do them justice by seeing them perform live!

As a matter of fact, we did see you! We were watching some of the game competition and your demo at the same time. I believe it was about 3:00 PM on Saturday.

We live about 135 miles east of Flagstaff. It was our first trip to the Highland Games, but it won't be the last.

And the Tinkers were great! Those boys can play. Very unique sound and they were really friendly at their tent.

Maybe next time we will plan to see you there!

Hello Haynes! We were indeed doing our demo at that time. I was mostly working at our camp as people would come in and want to know who the heck we were and why we were there! LOL Plus, they wanted to know about our artillary and stuff. I actually love being in the background. The only thing I like to be part of publically is during the opening ceremonial for the games. And that is only because our Jacobite group marches right behind the pipe and drum band leading the event. It was so emotional for me while the pipe and drum play the opening song "The Green Hills of Tyrol -- When the Battle of is O'er." I hope I got that right. Anyway, when our group march behind them, it makes feel like we just come home from a victorious battle! It is soooooooo awesome!

Anyway, back to the WT. From what I undestand they are in the "planning stages" of doing a new CD. so we hope for it SOON, eh?

I hope it is ok to post this. This comes from the most recent Wicked Tinkers' newsletter.

"The Tinkers have just finished up our 2006 season with an awsome day at the Celtic Festival, Orange County, CA!

What a great time!

Now we get a month or so off for the holidays - and are looking forward to spending some time in the Studio, working on the next CD!

Meanwhile - as we look forward to the 2007 season, I want to ask for your help.

Wicked Tinkers is looking for new games and music festivals to play around North America - Particularly on the East Coast or midwest. If you know of a folk/celtic music festival or Highland games in your area that you think would be a good match for Wicked Tinkers - we would really appreciate it if you would let us know about it!

Here's the deal. It has to be a large enough event to afford a professional band - so, as much as we'd LOVE to play your next party, it probably isn't going to happen unless you can fly us and our equipment there, put us up in hotels, and pay our performance fee.

(On the other hand, if you have a LOT of friends with money, that just might happen! - and if they're cute, please introduce us!)

We generally don't play pubs or bars. Not that we don't like to hang out in them ourselves (Lord knows, we do!) but imagine that you went down to the local pub for a pint and some conversation - and then the idiots with the amplified bagpipes and drums showed up. We can become quite unpopular quite quickly.

Also, clubs often want us to work for a part of the door, and that arrangement doesn't work well for us.

The exception to this is if they are a concert venue, and would like to book us as a ticketed event. We have had great success with this arrangement at O'Blarney's Pub in Lacey, Washington. Check them out at

http://www.oblarneyspub.com/welcome.htm

We book ourselves, so this is a real opportunity for you to be a part of our success! Your name will live forever in song and story! (At the very least, we'll mention you from the stage!!)

Cheers, and thanks!"

Recent newsletter from the Wicked Tinkers and 2007 schedule. They are working on a new CD and DVD...yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This following is from Warren Casey.

HI Wicked ones,

Happy New Year!

We are looking forward to seeing you all this year. Our first shows are coming up in just under two weeks. We will be on a short tour with TEMPEST in Hanford and Davis. It is our third year doing WINTER WONDERLAND TOUR. Ticket information is below. Hanford is a large theatre and you will be able to buy tickets at the door. Davis Veterans is a smaller theatre and buying your tickets in advance is highly advised. This theatre has sold out the last two years that we've performed there.

We are still waiting to hear from more games and festivals. When we book a new venue it will be posted on the web page: http://www.wickedtinkers.com/Wicked_Schedule.html In fact we have a few tentative dates up on the web page already.

NEWS:
We were featured as the entrance music for the Ultimate Fighting Champion "The Dean of Mean" Keith Jardine: http://meanjardine.com/index2.html. He was fighting in Las Vegas a few weeks ago and someone heard the music and sent us this link: http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=fighter.detail&pid=406 By the way, Keith won his match that day!!

Starting in February, we are going into the studio to work on the new CD #6. It is untitled. As soon as I know more-you will too.

Paul Desjarlais has posted a new video on Youtube. Paul is our good friend and film maker of our now-shelved WT DVD. He has a few of the excerpts posted on our Youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_quer...s&search=Search
and his Youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=BrotherOrangeFish

Paul Manchester, illustrator/author of our first comic book and designer of Wallop the Cat, is just about finished with the long overdue second comic book. It was just about ready a few years ago when we had a musician change. Paul has cut and pasted Jay into the new comic. Expect it out very soon. Here is his rather fun web site: http://www.wilwhimsey.com/

Absolutely and God willing, Rindy! I have already made my hotel reservations for Flagstaff July 2007! Hope Haynes did too...hint, hint! I need to check with him concerning that weekend. But he lives pretty close so he probably can drive and see it all in one day anyway.

I would also like to drive up and see them in Vegas, but kind of doubt that will happen.

Rindy, I am sure you received the above newsletter as well, but thought I would post it just in case others would like to know their tour schedule and recent plans for this new year.

Huzzah and many congrats to the Wicked Tinkers who won "Celtic Folk Band" category and Aaron winning the "Celtic Folk Instrumentalist" category!

Here was the news given to us from Warren Casey of Wicked Tinkers.

"We want to thank all of you that voted for us on the CELTIC MP3s MUSIC MAGAZINE 2nd Annual Celtic Music Awards. We won!!!! Best Celtic Folk Music Band and Aaron our piper and fearless musical leader won, Best Folk Instrumentalist. You can check it out here: http://www.celticmp3s.com/awards/. Check out the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast that Marc Gunn produces.

We are in the studio working on CD#6. We hope to have it available by July. When we have a few more tunes recorded we will get a track up on MySpace for all to check out! Stay tuned for a few pictures of the recording in process. Jay has a new digital camera!

The season is here. Starting with the great Calaveras Celtic faire this weekend. Our schedule at the faire is up - just follow this link: http://www.calaverascelticfaire.com/schedule.html . It looks like perfect spring weather this year. Last year was fun if you like snow."
