Hi everyone! This is such a lovely place. I just stumbled across this site and have been really enjoying the fabulous music (and book recommendations).

I live in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Washington DC and work at one of Washington's many nonprofit organizations. I'm planning my third trip to Ireland and my first to Nova Scotia this year. This site is definitely getting me excited for the trip. If anyone has any travel suggestions or experiences I would love to hear them.

About me: I'm originally from Califonia, but I've lived on East Coast for a good chunk of my life. I love to gab, read, and dance. And cook too, of course. Anyway, thanks for being such a welcoming place.

Peace and blessings

welcome jumbleberry...good to have you among us. You'll find lots of help around here, all you have to do is ask.

Are you planning your trip around a tour or want to take it as it comes? Looking more for B&B type lodging or hotel rooms? Anything sites that you know you're going to want to see or just looking for suggestions at this point?

I know if I ever get over to Ireland I want to spend some time doing some geneology work but I doubt I'd get to do that over a week's vacation. So much to see and just do. Would love to spend some time at Bunratty Castle myself that's a must for me.

Anywhoooo...welcome aboard! yes.gif

Hello jumbleberry pie! Fàilte gu Celtic Radio! Welcome to Celtic Radio!

In my humble opinion, you have found one of the best websites ever. The people here are some of the nicest to be found anywhere on the net, and the music is simply out of this world.

So kick off your shoes, grab a mug of your favorite hot (or cold) beverage, turn up the music and have fun! I look forward to getting to know you better through your posts.

If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to ask anyone with the word "Guide" beneath their avatar. That's why we're here!

Again, it is so nice to have you with us. We are like one big family here, and we just love welcoming new members to the fold! I hope that you will enjoy your stay with us, and that you will come back and visit with us often. I feel quite certain that you will grow to love the place as much as I have.

Welcome to the family, my friend!
And welcome home! smile.gif

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! To answer your question Senara, my trip to Ireland is pretty open at this point. I've only ever visited Dublin and the seaside towns nearby so I'm hoping to explore a new part of the country in October. I'm not a big fun of tours generally, except for the fabulous Guinness factory tour of course!

hrmmm...I wouldn't mind going to see the Waterford Crystal tour myself...but I like sparkly things anyway. There are a lot of things away from Dublin to see and do from what I've seen at the travel booths at Irish Fest-Milwaukee. Just need to pick a part of Ireland to see and plan from there.
