I like "On Eagles Wings" too, but I think I would like to have "Finnagan's Wake" played and hopefully if they spill whiskey over me I'll revive!

The aftershave that I like to put on is called Patrick. I first got a bottle of it when I was in Ireland, but I've since found it here in the States. It reminds me of Ireland only becuase that is where I first smelled it. -E |

I've been told that my mother's side of the family, somwhere down the line, belonged to the Douglas Clan. When we were in Scotland we went to a castle that was related to the Douglas Clan. One of the first Douglas's was Sir William Douglas who fought and died for William Wallace. His son, Sir James Douglas was a supporter and lifelong friend of Robert the Bruce.
Here is a picture of the tartan:

I went to England (London mostly) when I was ten. I went to Ireland when I was 15 or 16. My most favorite places in Ireland where Killarney and Sligo. I've also been to Scotland when I was 18 and we mostly stayed in Edinburgh, but we did get to the Highlands and to Stirling. I'm now 31 and just got permission from the wife to go back to Ireland next year with some friends! I can't wait! Anyway I found that Ireland was may favorite country! Ireland had the most friendly people you'll ever meet. When I was in Ireland they were in the World Cup and the whole country was glued to the T.V. each night watching the games. That was a huge thrill since I love to watch soccer too! -E |

Hello Everyone, I just was informed by Wizard that this thread existed so I thought I would post too. I've been playing the whistle for about 5 years now. I'm not that good at reading music even though I played the flute for about 6 years when I was a kid. I have a pretty good ear and can usally pick up the tune pretty quick. My favorite way to practice playing is poppin' one of my favorite Chieftan's CDs and play along. I've been invited to play at some slow jams, but I've never had the time to go to them. I've heard that this a great way to learn tunes though. Anyway I'm glad to see that there is a thread out here for us whistle players! Cheers, -E |
