OK folks nothing has been posted here since Feb, and I did that!
Are you folks interested in Scottish cooking or not?
If there is no interest I might ask Macfive to archieve this topic to save space on the CR servers, if there is interest then please post some recipes here.

Um, actually I'd keep it here. Because the second you delete it there'll be a dozen posts about how silly it is that we don't have a Scottish cooking thread here and that it should be started.
Would anybody have any Scots recipe's for breakfast foods? I'm looking for sausage and eggs type breakfasts.
also, I'm a Carne con Chile fan (mexican chile con carne - chili with no beans) - would anyone have any beef recipes for a Scots equivalent to this excellent source of gaseous distress and delight to the pallet?
What a funny coincidence -- I just came across a recipe for what they call scotch eggs this weekend. Simple enough -- but it ain't exactly diet food.
Scotch Eggs
This recipe makes 6 Scotch eggs.
6 hard-cooked eggs, well chilled 1 pound loose breakfast sausage (not in casings) 1/2 cup flour 2 eggs, beaten 3/4 cup fine bread crumbs Vegetable oil for frying
Peel eggs and set aside. Divide sausage into 6 portions. Roll each egg in flour and with hands press a portion of the sausage around each egg to cover completely.
Dip sausage-wrapped eggs into beaten eggs and roll in bread crumbs. Heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cook each egg in oil about 4-5 minutes or until sausage is cooked and browned. Drain on paper toweling. Serve warm. You'd be either brave or very hungry to eat more than one or two of 'em, I'd say.
Different versions add different seasonings -- I think some plain herb like fresh parsley, or maybe thyme and a bit of sage, would be enough, but I did see one that added cinnamon and nutmeg -- like a sweet sausage. I guess you'll have whatever your sausage is flavored with.
