Have any of you heard of Elmet, it was a Major Celtic Kingdom where Yorkshire now is. I am doing a study of it which will eventually lead to a Podcast this week. So right now I'm just gonna put down what I think I know bout Elmet.

The Celtic Kingdom of Elmet lasted until the Late 6th or Early 7th century. It was once where now Yorkshire is in Great Britain now It's capital was probably in the City of Ledes (Leeds today) the Main religion there is still pondered although history says for a while that it was defianatly Druid for a few centuries until roughly 200 A.D. Elmet is still in a way there although it's original Celtic Inhabitants are long gone. Although disputed, Gaelic is Believed to have originated somewhere or time in Elmet. During the Rule of The Roman Empire, Elmet was separated from the Roman Expansion by Hadrians wall its inhabitants having been considered barbarians.

Well I hope you enjoyed my brief Intro to the Celtic Kingdom I will add more on throughout the week as I learn more and more.
-Jimmie
