My husband bought it on Thursday and we watched it that night... it was poignant to us, as hubby's mom is terminally ill with bone cancer and facing her last months here. So we found the movie thought-provoking, and discussed how in M-i-L's case one of the things on her list has come true: the youngest daughter got pregnant and is now married. This girl is a distant, aloof young woman who at 38 still works a retail job with no benefits or security for the future. Back in late May she suddenly said she was going to get married in a few days, at the courthouse with a Justice of the Peace, and that she didn't want any of us there. (That hurt.) Then about two weeks later she announced she's pregnant. And due in December, so M-i-L is taking chemo treatments hoping to stay alive til the baby arrives.
Check that one off the M-i-L's list. Of course this daughter and the new husband moved in with mother-in-law and we're wondering how long it will take them to talk her into leaving them the house and everything else. I'm not a betting woman, but I'd bet serious moolah on this deal!
