Hey all! I'm a comm. major. I love writing Movie Scripts and Tv Scripts. I don't know if anyone here is into any of that. But if there is this is the place to be! Let's talk about what you are writing or have written!
Sláinte!

There's a dear little plant that grows in our Isle Twas St . Patrick himself, sure, that set it; And the sun of his labour with pleasure did smile, And with dew from his eye often wet it. It grows through the bog, through the brake, through the Mireland, and they call it the dear little shamrock of Ireland.
Unfotunately, I am very bad when it comes to writing scripts and have never finished any that I have started.

DRAGON BLESSING
May dragons bring you wealth and guard your treasures May they banish darkness and enlighten you May female dragons grant you inner power May the Dragon Queen neutralize your enemies May Dragon Spirits give you power over Elementals May weather dragons bring rain at your request May Ti'amat effect the changes you command May Ishtar grant you Dragon Power May Ishtar grant you Dragon Power

yea I'm into it and want to make films someday. One screenplay that I wrote last November I am particulary proud of, which I entered in a film festival in toronto. It's based on the Tuatha De Dannan ancient faery race of Ireland and I don't know if anyone knows anything about them, but it was said they came here from across the veil on ships. Well, I have a short of time change and there's this war with Rome and stuff. And all the Tuatha have long pointed ears and shades of green, aqua/blue, or even purple hair (though it's rare) but green is the most common. There is an Elemental Council...4 wise entitys which give guidence to the empire of Eire and The Marmaduke. (sort of like a king, marmaduke means leader of the seas) And then there's the warriors of Eire, which is sorta like their army, and then there's a High warrior which leads them--in my screenplay it's this girl called Aravan whom the whole story is basically about. If anyone wants to read it, I'd be glad to e-mail to get some feedback, a little editing on things never hurts. I've also started writing a collection of short stories based in the world of Eire.

If we could just stand here, without the words, would that be enough? ..Look at the sky now. What color is it? Or the way a hawk flies. Or you wake up and your ribs are bruised thinking so hard on somebody. What do you call that?

Wow, that's awesome! I hope to have my movie made, personally I would LOVE it if Mel Gibson would make it. hehe. I have a lot of other movie ideas, it's just a matter of sitting down and doing all the research and whatnot. I love fantasy. I think my next script is going to be some kind of love story. That's all I know right now. haha!
I too have an entire fantasy universe going. I've got two (eventually many) scenarios I'm writing for it; and a third one that will most likely end up as a kids' animation. I plan on working on them over the summer, and then learning in my script writing class how to fix the problems.

Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing? Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing? Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing? They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning? ~ J.R.R. Tolkien
I was one of only two females out of 35 in my Intro to motion picture prod. class. We were the only ones who got all our work in on time, so we were the only ones who weren't grossly rushed in post-production.
Hey! this is great. I have what I believe is a great idea for a screenplay but I have never tried one, or even read one, and I have no idea what is involved, though I'm mulling over ideas for dividing it into scenes and stuff. What do you recommend? Are there good books or authors who have written on this?
You can pretty much find all sorts of books about it. I learned about it in school. I have this nice program that I use. All scripts have very strict formats. if you check out scriptbuddy.com you can some ideas on the format.
I have all sorts of ideas for movies. I don't have a computer right now so I haven't been writing anything. I hope to start writing them soon though. I would love to write a movie on Grace O'Malley the Pirate Queen. But I need to do some massive research first!

Get a couple notebooks, a pen, and start writing Don't let not having a confuser stop ya, you'll lose ideas that way! Get crackin' on that research
Use the word processor that won't crash on you, doesn't require electricity, is portable, and is a lot easier to use extended characters with
I've got upwards of 30+ screenplays and just as many short stories in the works, but nothing completed as yet aside from about 5 pieces in the 2nd draft stage (or at the start of, rather). I read a lot about screenwriting in books and on the web, but the greatest thing you can do is jump right in and peck out every word your own way.
Most of the ones I've scrapped are the "not so unique" pieces but I'm quite fond of one in particular (which has actually turned into a graphic novel/comic book script) about a post-apocalyptic survivor and his travels. And there's another one that also leans more toward a graphic novel about a sheriff in an Old West town that has its share of "strange bedfellows" to deal with.
I don't know. I just do it for fun.
