It's so hard to pick a favorite rock band when there are so many good bands out there but I am hard pressed as I loved the music Wolfstone put on the other night.
Stuart, Duncan and Stephen are very talented men who excell in their talents. I only got a brief moment to speak to them as I was running to catch a plane but I WISH I had been able to stay to watch them again. Their music was overwelming. I loved it!
This group is from my homeland of Scotland and they make me so proud to meet all of them. They are a pleasant down to earth group of talented musicians.
They will always be on my "MUST Do" list of who to see and hear!
Thanks for the pic of Wolfstone, Annabelle! I really love this band a lot. I have one of their CDs and play it to death.............but I really hope to buy more and one day see them live!
I wanted to bump this up and see if there are any other Wolfstone fans. They start their US tour in August and so far I have these dates with more to come.

Saw Wolfestone last year at the Dublin (Ohio) Irish Festival. Picked up their CD "Almost an ISland", which I understood is only available in this country via the band, at their concerts. Really enjoyed them. They are one of my favorites.
Hey JP! You got to see Wolfstone?! I would really love to see them too. I now have two of their CDs: Pick of the Liter....The Best of and Almost An Island. I really love them. I think you can only buy their music via their website. I want to get more of their music. I bet they put on a good performance, eh? I am hoping they will come out west on their USA tour.

Hey, I haven't heard of this band before and just now happened on this topic... I know there are links where I could hear them at, but real quickly can any of you tell me who they might sound like style-wise? Do they remind you of anyone else?

"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king..."
SB! Would you please stop this nonsense for a week until you get your birthday gifts I mailed to you this past Friday?! You should get your package on Thursday, dear!
JP! You and I seem to have the same taste in music!
Anyway, Wolfstone is a terrific band from Scotland. I have two of their CDs. They have kind of blend of rock with Scottish sound with pipes and drums and suchl. I am not sure who to compare them to. Maybe Enter the Haggis, but I like Wolfstone MUCH better.
Wolfstone really have the knack of combining pipes and the modal folk tunes with the heavier rock elements of backbeat and lots of electric guitar and bass. I think that combination is a natural anyway , but they really do it to the hilt. There's a magnificence to it, like full regalia. (Great Big Sea can get close to that really massive, solid sound too sometimes.)
