My name is David, and I just found out about this station. I have to say, it brings me to tears. I'm a musician myself, and I have spent so many years panning the dial, listening to the same repetitive music from all the commercial stations, that I had just given up on ever hearing something I had never heard before. I LOVE Celtic music.
I live in Los Angeles, and I'm finishing up Bible college. I'm 35 years old. I work as a web designer, and I'm releasing my own music soon, Lord willing. It will be my first record, and I will give it away for free online. My own music is rock music recorded in my little studio. But I hope in the future to play more Celtic influenced stuff. I'm AMAZED at how challeging it is to play Celtic music, especially the fast and articulate melodies. But I've been playing guitar for over 20 years and it's in my blood. So as I grow and get better I'm hoping to get much better at a Celtic style.
Any musicians out there I'd love to talk with you!
Thank you, and God bless you.
PS - I'm also new to many of the Celtic bands out there, and so even a half day of listening had turned me on to several groups that I immediately admire.
I think you'll find that you will receive a very warm welcome by a group of warm, if a little warped, people. We have lots of fun.
I am a musician as well. I've been a drummer in various pipe bands for 31 years. So I guess you could say I play a form of Celtic music. Next to my family and God, drumming is my biggest life passion. What kind of rock do you play?

Normal is a relative term. For some reason it is not a term my relatives use to describe me.
Welcome David! So glad you found us! Check out the Kirk and Chapel forum! Lots of Christian-oriented topics to choose from as well lots of other interesting and fun forums! But most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Welcome aboard David. Must say that I'm really good playing the radio. Know what you mean about the music here. It's so refreshing and, I suppose because of my heritage, most of it immediately strikes a responsive chord in me. As tsargent said, we're somewhat strange, but for the most part we're friendly and don't bite (the ones that do have had their shots). In fact, some of us have actually learned how to sit at the table and use a knife and fork.
Glad to have you with us. Just to let you know, I enjoy music but cannot play a note! Makes me appreciate those who do play. I, too, love celtic music.
Lots of great people here with many different interests. Get comfortable and enjoy yourself!
Hi David! so great to have you here! My father was a professional drummer, but I inherited no musical ability from him whatsoever! I did inherit to appreciate and be obsessed with music though which led me to this site. so glad to have you here and hope you enjoy the different forums. I am a Christian too and was born and raised in Los Angeles. I live in Arizona now but been in L.A. three times this year and going back in August to see the Corrs in concert with my sister! Ever heard of them?! Take care and hope to see you in the forums!
Hey David! Welcome! I myself play the fiddle, not that well, but I'm getting there. And what's this a little warped thing tsargent? Ahh nevermind, we are somewhat strange. Have fun!

Hey David, Hang in there on the music ! It just keeps getting better and better! Our Great and Powerful Oz has more surprises in store for us. He's always developing contests to give away CD's based on what is sent to the station. So Keep listening and enjoy! Always glad to have fresh blood (I meant-new people) on here! he he

We have to cut sarge some slack, he is a drummer, after all.
Welcome David. I'm a guitarist (I prefer to think of it as a six-string claymore!) living in Nashville. I started playing when I was 7, and I have been playing for 44 years. You can do the math. I was turned on to Celtic by some friends in Mississippi (of all places) about 10 years ago. Sometimes I think it and my wife are the only things keeping me sane, and sometimes I'm not too sure about my wife.
If you're ever back this way, we'll have to get together and pick a little. That's Nashville slang for "jam session".

Hey, Welcome to the group! It's an awesome place to hear great music and meet people and just have an all around great time. I joined a few months ago and I was immediately accepted. This place is awesome. I have never felt so welcome in an online group before. Hope you have a great experience here!

There's a dear little plant that grows in our Isle Twas St . Patrick himself, sure, that set it; And the sun of his labour with pleasure did smile, And with dew from his eye often wet it. It grows through the bog, through the brake, through the Mireland, and they call it the dear little shamrock of Ireland.

*Thinking with a Mexican accent* I don't need no stinkin' slack!
Ok, fine, yeah I'm a drummer. But I'm the first to admit that all the stereotypes are true. They have to be if I'm going bang on a kevlar skinned tube with wooden sticks.

Well thank you so much for making me feel so welcome!
I'll be sure to keep listening, and look forward to getting to know some of you on the talk threads. Tsargent: I'll send you a link to my website when I get the music finished! You can hear for yourself. (In about 2 weeks maybe?)
Anyway, it's very nice to meet you folks! Great site, great music, and warped people! (This is what the internet should be all about.)
